I'm not sure if anyone has posted it or figured it out yet.
So, I play 2 unity based games on Linux Ballistic Overkill and Rust.
These games recently switched to unity 5.6 and both of them have a same issue.
I generally play with discord in background for VoIP.
But as soon as I run any of these games the sound from discord starts stuttering and is all glitchy.
Initially this only happened with Rust and I thought it was their issue bt same thing is happening with Ballistic Overkill.

This is the first report I've seen.
It's possible that Unity 5.6 is better about spreading its load across more CPU cores, and this is having a bigger impact on other apps than previously. If this is the case, it should be workaroundable by setting the cpu affinity of the game at launch.
Another possibility is that there's an unintended change in how Unity's interacting with pulse or alsa - we'd need more information to be able to determine whether that's the case and how to address it.

    Hope this helps,
    Levi

This could be a discord issue.
I tried playing a Unity based game with sound playing from background apps like youtube from browser and music over bluetooth, and they seem to work flawless. Im gonna make post it discord forums as well.
    Thanks for the reply. :)
