    Do you use Asset Bundles? I have an issue with the Editor if loading multiple Assets from the same bundle at once.

    I had no problems after upgrading projects to 5.5.0

    Does it crash when you create a new project and play it or if you create a new scene in your old project and play it? If yes then you could try reinstalling unity.

    If not then I'd suggest disabling some gameObjects in your scene, since it's possible that one of them is running a script that became obsolete.

    No, I am not using Asset bundles.

    I created a new proyect and Unity don´t crashes.

    If I create a new scene in my current proyect, Unity crashes.

    I don´t know what is happening...

    Close out of Unity, back up your project, delete the Library folder under your project folder. Next time you open up your project Unity will rebuild that folder. It often (but not always) fixes odd issues like this. It's always the first thing I try and so far has nearly always resolved issues I've had after an upgrade.

    I deleted the Library folder, and open again Unity and my proyect, but after a while it shows a pop-up window that says "FSBTool.Exe Has Stopped Working". I closed it, Unity continues loading data, and it shows the pop-up window again. It happen several times. When Unity finished to load the proyect, I press play and Unity crashes again (I pressed Play in the new Scene created in my current proyect).

    Same problem. For me (pc) it works fine, but the person I'm working with (mac) it crashes as soon as he presses the play button. It's an Android/iOS project.
    We've tried the sounds solution by removing all the sounds from the project completely. But it did not seem to matter.

    Hey, I can only find reports of this from 5.0. Can you send in a bug report with repo project so we can investigate?

    Edit: Actually the problem related to the FSBTool 64 bit exe has a fix that didn't land in the release, am checking now if it can make it into p1.

    But it is related with the crash on Play in Editor too?

    I got it to work.

    I opened the proyect again, and notice that it was in "PC platform", I switched to Android, it throw the "FSBTool 64 bit exe" error several times, and when it finished I saw two warnings about 2 mp3 files that was stored in other folder (they was in a demo plugin folder that I am using, two demo sounds that I didn´t reminder). I deleted both. Saved the proyect. And now I notice that Unity Ads was disabled (I was using the built-in Unity Ads) and when I turn on unity crashes. I opened again and now all works correctly (aparently).

    Hey all,
    * Update*
    This post originally mentioned re-importing the Unity Ads Plugin as a resolve, however DO NOT DO THIS! My problem was actually the build settings. Try this:

    I've solved the problem (for real this time). I got the same errors when I synchronised (we're using GIT). It turned out the build settings reverted back to Mac/PS Standalone instead of iOS or Android. I've changed the build settings and this enabled me to enter Play Mode without the editor crashing! So to recap: issue presumably caused by having Ads enabled and switching platform instead of a Mobile one to Mac/PC Standalone.

    Previous comment (ignore):
    /* I had Unity Crash since updating to 5.5 when pushing Play. My problem was based around the Unity Ads Plugin. I've turned off ads, re-downloaded the Unity Ads Plugin from the Unity Asset Store, restarted Unity, enabled ads again and now it does not crash anymore. Hope this helps anyone reading struggling with the same problem! */

    Hey, which Unity ads asset store package were you using before? We haven't been able to reproduce on Mac nor on Windows, so trying to investigate.

    Ok, has same bug on move to 5.5

    1. After first load project its just turnoff editor without any messages, just on press play.
    2. Removed library and temp folder
    3. One of my sounds cant import correctly (FSBTool 64 bit exe error), removed that sound.
    4. Was errors about adverstiments module not found in Editor.log
    5. Looked at build settings, there was set to Windows, switched back to Android.
    6. Turn on\off ADS.

    Now all fine, as in previous version, project compiled and ADS working.

    Please let me know if this is considered a bug and if so, if you can reproduce.

    Hmm, this is looking more like an Editor issue and not with the Ads package. I'll let the team know, thanks for this info!

    I'm getting this bug, too. Tried turning off ads, deleting temp/libraries folders, still crashing to Mac desktop on play without error message.

    My Unity 5.5.0f3 crashes on play whenever I create a new GestureRecognizer in Start();

    Any ideas here?
