Unity 5.2.1 crashes on FBX checked Generate Lightmaps UV

    Have you tried the latest patch? If It still crashes file a bug report with the file that crashes unity.

    I am running Unity 5.3.4f1 and we are now bumping into the issue as well when importing an FBX file. I'm trying to get more details from the artists about what the FBX is made of and what could be causing it, but I thought you should be aware. Windows 10 machine.

    Same issue here on all the versions of Unity we have tried (5.3 and up). It was working fine two weeks ago and then something broke after upgrading to 5.4. Our project is dead in the water until this is fixed, and we had an update due a week ago for our players.

    Yes I have, but I don't know if I attached all the files or not.

    I have uninstalled pretty much everything code related and reinstalled Java and Unity, yet the same issue surfaces right off the bat. I'm considering moving everything over to a blank test machine.

    Me too. Win10. 5.3.6f1. Freezes after hitting the apply button.

    I am using 5.4.0 and this problem has not been fixed. I get "UnwrapCL.exe has crashed" and the UV is not generated properly which causes the object's mesh to have weird dark stripes, almost as if each mesh (6 total) was lit differently.

    Unity does not crash though

    Sounds like something is going wrong when unwrapping your model. Can you submit a bugreport and include the model?

    Hey, guys. I met this problem when i was using Unity 5.4.2. In my case , when I enable "Generate Lightmap UVs" setting and set all the Advance values zero , then "UnwrapCL.exe" crashed and the crush dialog display counts equal the model count ! if I change thoese value to other , this crash wouldn't happen . so ,why this happen?

    "unwrapCL.exe has stopped working"
    I have the Problem in Unity 5.6.1f1 :( What should I do? I can't load any project with models.

    Please file a bug report and include the mesh/project that is causing the problems.

    Unity 2017.4.0f1 still has this problem. Anything more complex then about 100K poly freezes Unity completely on asset import.

    unticking 'Generate Lightmaps UV' makes the model appear. although all lightmap info are broke

    Remove it, it was the only way for my c \ program files \ unityeditordatatools \ unwrapcl .exe
