Can you try opening a new project and see if that also freezes the editor? Going from 4.3 to 4.5 is a major upgrade so your project is probably trying to upgrade to the new version which can take some time.

Upgrading from 4.3.x to 4.5.x can require every single asset to be re-imported. This can take some time if your project is large. What is not clear is whether Unity 4.5 has *crashed* or if it is busy re-importing. Perhaps look at the editor log and see if assets are listed as being re-imported. If Unity 4.5 looks like it's busy re-importing, then just leave it to do it's thing. Honestly, sometimes when customers purchase consultancy and send us projects it can take 24 hours to get the project loaded. Sometimes it crashes, and we have to try multiple times. If your Unity 4.5 has crashed, then obviously send in a bug report (by starting Unity with an empty project and submitting a bug report. It's *critical* that the Editor-prev.log is included in the report, since that will be the log that was written when Unity crashed. If you continue to have problems, just revert to 4.3. (You did back up your project, right?)

@graham, ofcourse I have a backup of my project but its from 0.3005a4 while we were working on 0.3006a2, so we made a lot of changes, and I was using Unity 4.5.1f2(The Patch Release) and it was good, then i downloaded the Public version 4.5.1f3 and its like that, it doesn't re-import anything neither compiling, its just standing there doing nothing, and started doing some tests, so i deleted some of the Folder's meta files to see if Unity would re-serialize them, and it did, it created the meta files again but when the editor is done and is shown, it just stays there frozen. I' Pre-Ordered Unity 5 so I got Unity 4.5, now I'm so worried that i can't be sure of anything I do in Unity. any idea of what should I do, tomorrow when i go to my studio I'll do some tests again see if it works. 'The Project is not that big cause we decided to split up the system, one for gameplay, one for GUI...etc.. so its not that big, I assume it's less than 500mb'

We have another patch coming out later today so you could try it in that. If this doesn't work then I would submit a bug with the project as an example, include the editor log & use the version that was working for you.

I found out that it only happens when i open one scene [MainMenu] but the other scenes are fine, there may be a file corruption in that scene when i saved in that version and open in another version?

Sounds plausible that there might be file corruption causing the problem. Figuring out which file though might be a challenge. As I said earlier, the editor log might at least give some indication of how far through the scene Unity gets before freezing, so you might be able to see files that Unity has loaded.

    Unity Log:
    ----- Total AssetImport time: 0.044143s, AssetImport time: 0.036083s, Asset hashing: 0.000000s [0 B, 0.000000 mb/s]
so the scene was loaded but it was frozen, but I found a way to fix it, I decrypted the .unity file and changed some settings of my scene... then it worked again :D , thank you for the support
