Unity 4.0 won't open

    I downloaded unity 4.0 yesterday, hoping for a quick and simple upgrade from the version of Unity 3 I had. After installation however, unity would only open one window, which attempted to connect to the license server (I believe) before quickly displaying an error, then doing nothing. The error was "tx_id is invalid."

    I'm on a MacBook Pro with OS10.7.5. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Just had the same problem. Only I'm on a Mac Pro Os x 10.6.8

    I should also note, I'm not upgrading. This is a clean, first time on this system install of Unity 4. "Connecting to License Server" pops up, then a blank window stating "tx_id is invalid" displays. Nothing else.

    An attempt to open any of the prebuilt packages causes the same result. Monodevelop boots up fine though (no need for a license there I guess).

    Bump.

    Anyone at least know what the tx_id is??

    Hi all,

    This error is related to the server not knowing the license id request, can you please file a bug report to us? The bug reporting tool sits next to the Unity application in Applications/Unity.

    It's important that you reproduce the issue first before reporting the bug, as you will need to attach the editor.log file which will hopefully provide us with the right details to investigate what is causing it.

    Editor.log file is found here: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Editor.log

    I had already filed a report, but this time I found the Log, so it should be more useful. Thanks for your help, I hope it's an easy fix.

    I am having the same issue. I have the 3.x standard iOS licence and just downloaded and installed the Unity Pro 4.x trial. Now I get the same tx_id is invalid error. Please let me know what I need to do.

    Did anyone get this fixed yet? I got the following directions from Unity Support but it did not work.

    1.Uninstall Unity (drag Unity app to trash on MacOS)
    2.Delete this file:

    Win: C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Pace Anti-Piracy/License Files
    Mac: HD/Library/Application Support/PACE Anti-Piracy/License Files

    3. Restart
    4. Download Unity again from our website, since your original install might be corrupt. http://unity3d.com/unity/download/archive
    5. Reinstall and test

    Your case is assigned to the developer, he will investigate further and hopefully find the cause to fix it. We may need more info so stay frosty.

    Hi.

    I have same problem on 4.0. Yesterday 4.1.0 released but I cant start. message is also "tx_id is invalid"
    But I can start unity4 now.
    try this
    1.Disconnect all network, LAN WiFi,,,
    2.Start Unity4
    3.Manual activation window open.
    4.create and save license request file. (ex unityv4.1.0.alf)
    5.Connect Internet.
    6.go to license request page. url is on manual activation window.
    7.Upload .alf file.
    8.Login Unity account (or create new account)
    9.you can download license file.
    10.click "Load license file" on first window.
    11.Unity will start. (my case was start rainbow circle and freeze unity4 , after kill and restart unity4 its clear!

    Same problem. "tx_td is invalid" nyamaru, your suggestion worked for me although with more problems.
    I had to download the license twice and put it in a different location, then it would load.
    Once I loaded the license nothing would happen. I had to force quit Unity and restart computer.
    Unity worked then.

    Same message after installing version 4.2.0f4. After changing my Safari Privacy settings from - Block cookies "Always" To "From third parties and advertisers" the activation window appeared.

    Has this issue been solved at all? I'm having a similar issue. Recent moved to new iMac with OSX Mavericks. I'm running the free Unity license. Unity was running fine up until tonight. It will not even open now. There is also no error report.

    Mine just opens the first picture no icon or notifications and just sits there anyone got an idea what that means?

    mine did the same @CH1LLP1LL idk what to do, the loading idication is there but it just sits there
