Hi. I'm developing a game and I wanted to release it on MAC and iOS but I don't have a Mac since it's very expensive. I'm planning to buy a Mac Mini to make the port for Mac and iOS.

How is Unity 3D performance on a Mac Mini? It's a 3D mobile Game.

I want to buy the 499$ model.

    Thank you.

The $499 mini is an i5 (dual core) @1.4GHz which I'm going to guess performs around (maybe less) than my 2009 17" MacBook Pro w/2.8GHz Core 2 Duo. My laptop runs Unity 4.6, 5.0 and 5.1 however it's noticeably slower than my 27" iMac (3.4GHz i7 quad core).

HOWEVER the $200 more model would be a much better alternative especially with the 8GB

EDIT: Sorry - you were looking to TEST a game? That's not a great choice with the built-in HD Intel graphics

It's a mobile game, so I can't see why Intel graphics would matter.

Ah, missed that; so the "Unity3D" part is irrelevant, and the Xcode simulator is all software so yes the mini can run the testing but on-device performance testing is what matters most; so "in theory" you can "test" on a MacBook Air!

I bought a MAC and it was the best buy I ever had. Great device for game dev in Unity 3D.

Until now I never had a single problem... ;)
