    Hi,

I am using Unity 2021.3 on Mac and the editor cannot import and recognize SketchUp's *.skp model.

But in the Unity Documentation is shows SketchUpImporter is part of the Built-in Importers

    https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/BuiltInImporters.html

    https://docs.unity3d.com/2021.3/Documentation/Manual/class-SketchUpImporter.html

Used to be able to see the *.skp model in Unity 2020.3 but not on Unity 2021.3 now!

Is there any setting we need to configure in Unity 2021.3 in order to view and use the SketchUp models like before?

    Thanks,

Any idea where is this documented? Will it ever be fixed? All works fine on Windows 2021.3, but not on the Mac.

It looks like Unity (v2021.3.11f1 and v2022.1.18f1) on the Mac no longer supports SketchUp imports of any kind (Sketchup 2015, 2017, 2022, etc.). This has been true for at least 4 months. Imports work fine on the Windows version. Perhaps it is no longer supported (as it is not supported on Linux), but I wish Unity would note this in the documentation. Happy to provide examples to anyone from Unity looking to fix this problem.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Very upset by this. Unity - go and sit on the naughty step.

Seems the only solution is to go back to Sketchup 2017 download version and use FBX export. FBX export from free Web version is a paid option. My son needs it for his homework so I'm not paying oodles for something that we don't need for very long. Shame...

    Hi folks,
Currently Sketchup files are not supported on the Silicon Editor, but works as usual on the Intel Editor.
So on an M1 Mac you would need to install the Intel version :

You can find more details on this thread
    Hope this helps!

Haven't tried this yet but Unity 2022.2.12 claims to have "Enabled Sketchup Importer on Mac ARM platforms."

    See here...
