I've never disliked working with a unity version before as much I dislike working with Unity 2020 versions. Here's a range of issues I've run into multiple times in the past 7 days:
    - Forever loading "Collab.Tick" progress dialogues that completely halt my development until it's done "ticking", whatever that means.
    - Forever loading vague messaging with more "Hold on! busy for 10:34)" progress dialog boxes that completely halt development. Why can't these run in the background?
    - The engine starts lagging after about 2 hours of development. In play mode, FPS goes from 130 FPS to 16 and then back to 130 FPS in sudden FPS drops. This gets resolved as soon as I restart the engine.
    - 3-4 crashes when baking lights.

I'm running a rig that can definitely support development. 16GB RAM, 2070 RTX Super.

What's the resolution for this? Should I roll back to a 2019 LTS version?

I've also noticed that most of the Collab.Tick/etc dialogs are due to collab being switched on. I can't switch it off because I use the service as well. My suggestion would be to run these in the background please.

Example of a progress bar that keeps taking over the development space, completely halting all development.

Yes, If you don't really need features introduced in Unity 2020+, I don't see any reason to use Unity 2020 over 2019 LTS, or even 2018 LTS.
