Unity 2019 - Visual Studio stalling/very slow

    Hi

    VS since 2019 upgrade has been so slow it takes forever for it to compile (or whatever it's doing) so much so my productivity has gone down DRAMATICALLY as I sit and wait for the spinning rainbow ball to stop whilst VS is thinking about what to do.

    I have plenty of hard drive space but only 8 gig of ram (4 year old Macbook Pro retina laptop) and wonder if this is why?

    Memory used: 7.1gb (of 8gb ram)
    Unity 18gb (Activity mon)
    VS 13 gb (Activity mon)

    Now the major issue I have is that Macbook Pro RETINAS can NOT upgrade their ram - yep, they welded it on ><.

    So what else can I do? Is it the laptop? is it VS? Is it Unity? Can anyone think of a solution cause I'm pulling my hair out here and can't afford to buy a new laptop.
