Any body met this problem?
I am seeing this issue too, it crash on launch, even for empty new project (couldn't even create the project).
Windows doesn't suffer from this problem.
This seems hardware dependent:
- The more powerful mac mini works just fine.
- But on this MacBook Air, 2019.4.0f1 LTS no longer launch.
I wonder how to troubleshoot this issue.
but 2019.3.14f is OK，why so big different?
Try setting metalEditorSupport to 1 in ProjectSettings/ProjectSettings.asset with text editor before opening.

but can not can not create new project ,so ,no projectSettings folder..
yes, couldn't even create the project....how to fix that?
how about this?
Same Problem.... any solutions please suggest.
2 possible solutions, I haven't tried them yet as my Macbook Air is at workplace:
1. Try to force metal with editor launch command?
2. Try to open this empty 2019.4.0f1 project that I created on a Macbook Pro, with metalEditorSupport set to 1 already:
If neither works, then I guess a bug report could be submitted to Unity, as the issue is no longer OpenGL specific.
UPDATE: ok, neither of this work for MacBook Air 2012, I have replied to the original thread asking for more answers.
An updated on this: I tried 2019.4.3f1 today, it's now able to launch an empty project on MacBook Air 2012.
