Throws 3 Errors if you add HD Packages 7.1.2
Maybe 7.1.3 will release
Well hopefully they haven't went home for the weekend yet. Because I don't see a way on the Hub to download older Betas..
yeah terrain shaders are broken in 7.1.2
Is it that complicated to write automated test, that will import all available packages for released version and check, that there are no compile errors in the console?
Well Also they recently Broke the Refresh on Shader Graphs when making a material. Now all you see is a white ball. And the Visual Environment script say it needs a volume even though it has one. And in general Settings from older builds tend not to work.
I think it will just be 8.0 next.
Even for 2019.3? But when ?
7.x is for 2019.3
8.x will be for 2020.1
If you guys want best compat only use verified packages. Expect trouble otherwise.
Perhaps there will be some 7.x revisions but looking at github shows 8.x is the focus. Unity's dances with version numbers are amazing though. I see on some assets (XR for instance) the 2.x ones are many months older than the 1.x ones.
It's best to make the game with whatever is here right now, today. If Unity doesn't have it and you can't, it's best to find the right fit engine that can. Unity won't mind, they are first and foremost intelligent people.
7.1.2 is verified for 2019.3, but broken in beta 9.
7.1.2 is broken in 2020.1 as well for deployment. Do you have a bug number? might help them chase it down.
Just submitted one, case 1195763
Very easy repro. Create new project in 2019.3 beta 9, upgrade HDRP to 7.1.2, get errors.
7.1.2 is definitely marked as verified and it absolutely breaks a default HD project in 2019.3 B9
It's marked as a known issue on the change log for b9.
Then why did they release it if they knew it broke things? LoL
Ah damn it, I was sure I checked. Thanks, going to close the defect.
Yes I too would like to see them in the hub ( older versions )
No, there is a 'not finished/released yet' 7.2.0 on github and every so often most of the stuff originally put under github 8.x master or staging branches is still being merged into 7.2.0.
I dont have any clues about when 7.2.0 will be released.
I think around this month will be released 2019.3 so along with it.
Actually I am out of date again - what I said sometimes happens with merging 8.x work in to 7.x, happened again earlier today. But not just for 7.2.0 (branch release/2019.3) but also 7.1.3 (branch release/7.1.x), the changelog for which now says that the release date for 7.1.3 is today, Nov 4th.
I'm still showing only 7.1.2 in the package manager. Hopefully it will show up today
Goodness I hope so. I haven't been able to deploy to device on 7.1.2 without a battery of visual problems.
We are aware of the issue and working on releasing a HDRP 7.1.3 which will address the problem:
Any word on when this will be out? Version Unity 2019.3.0b8 is not showing it yet in the Package Manager..
Did anybody try with b10?
1194975 is still mentioned in the release.
Yep still broken
@Charles_Beauchemin will 7.1.3 be final HDRP for release version?
When will be available ?
So a New Version came out but NO 7.1.3. I tried going back to 7.1.1 . But the project throws a infinite error as soon as you re-open it. We need 7.1.3 Yesterday guys..
The team is looking into releasing 7.1.3 later today.
Where is 7.1.3 ? I just cancelled teaching my Unity class because we are waiting for it..
While I'm also waiting on the fix, this seems a bit extreme? You can just re-install beta 8 and continue? I know it's not in the launcher, but easy to download with the link from the release notes here:
Sadly no you can't. We have tried removing the current package and using the 7.1.2 it always results in some weird repeating error in the project. The only other option is exporting everything as packages and rebuilding the entire project. Which I am trying to avoid with a class full of students.
Of course your situation is different from mine, but yesterday I successfully installed beta 8 and can use that + 7.1.2 with my project just fine?
a quick workaround: just copy-paste all the contents in SerializedScalableSetting.cs to whatever other file that's in the project(e.g. SerializedScalableSettingValue.cs). You just have to do this everytime you restart unity or modify a package.
Unfortunately right after I do this Unity insists it needs to restart because I just switched to HDRP (I was already on it), which makes this futile.
@LeonhardP Any progress or new ETA on this issue?
@LeonhardP One day has turned into 6. Where the Blazes is 7.1.3?????????????
It has already been released 7 days ago.
Its not showing up in the package manager for 2019.3 B8 or B10. I have been checking daily...
You can just download the source code and replace your library cached version.
Usually there is reason for that if it is not showing in package manager. May be some showstoppers or bugs that can corrupt your project.
Well manually adding them doesn't work and Using the "+" menu to add packages doesn't work either. After adding them if you try to reopen the project
it just endlessly cycles through compiling the shaders.
The endless shader compilation also happens when you import 7.1.2 locally (which fixes the original problem by the way). What we do until the fix arrives is: Open the project in b5 or earlier (last version without the endless shader compilation loop), then open it in the current beta again. Deleting the library has the same effect by the way, but takes much longer.
Hi, let me clarify various thing regarding HDRP package here:
We consider HDRP as preview until official 2019.3 release candidate is out. We have removed the "preview" label on the package to prepare for it, but have in mind that it still effectively preview until the official release. Mean thing will continue to break if required (sorry for this). But not after
So expect that every 7.1.x version are all "preview". Also 2019.3 is in beta, which explain why some version may break HDRP as well. All this would be stable in final release candidate. Still we appreciate your feedback about it not working.
HDRP 7.1.2 have been broken with 2019.3b9 version. You can use previous version to have it work as a workaround
The issue with infinite loop at launch on AutodeskInteractive.shadergraph is due to an asset database bug fix in 2019.3b11. A workaround is to rease library folder of your project to have it import correctly.
HDRP 7.1.3 haven't been release. When we don't release a package it is because there is issue with it that don't allow us to promote it publicly.
HDRP 7.1.4 should be release tomorrow.
Hope this help.
SebLagarde can I send you PM for feedback and request for feature ?
If you have feedback, please create a thread for it.
Although 2019.3 is a beta, but it's still a little weird to have something marked as both non-preview and verified and still have it break. It's like these labels don't mean anything at all. Can we rely on them to mean it's safe to use in non-beta?
I will not go in tech details but for some reasons the engine start to break HDRP after the release. So the package have been tested at the time of the release with available beta and tagged verified BUT have break later due to an engine change. It is beta and such thing that shouldn't happen, Happen sometimes .
But regarding the particular case of verified for hdrp. Until official release, nothing should be consider rock solid.
We invest a lot into polishing and stabilization. Which may sometime require non negligeable change to fix issues.
Note: 7.1.4 is almost out.
@SebLagarde do you have any information when 7.1.4 releases? Is it still possible it will be released today?
It's available on GitHub.
It will still have to go through some testing before it can be promoted to the package manager.
