My PC: model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40GHz VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G94 [GeForce 9600 GT] (rev a1) (512Mb) RAM: 4GB DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS" WM: XFCE4 OpenGL version string: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 340.107 npm -version 3.5.2 Mono JIT compiler version 4.6.2 (Debian 4.6.2.7+dfsg-1ubuntu1) I have the latest UnityHub.AppImage, I am signed in, added Personal license and downloaded Unity 2018 LTS inside it. After I create a project (or trying to open from the list) I get a Unity logo, some small loading screens and everithing is just disappearing, Unity hub is still working, but minimized to tray. Tried it for 2d and 3d project types. In the project path I have project folders created, some files, and I have found, that default scene is created sometimes, so sometimes I get an empty Assets folder. If I go to a Unity editor folder and start it with "./Unity" in console I get all the same and a console message: (In Russian) "Аварийный останов (стек памяти сброшен на диск)" (Google translate) "Emergency stop (memory stack flushed to disk)" The same message i get with "./Unity -quit -batchmode -nographics -createProject ~/proj/unity/test", and no samplescene. Help me start my editor, please.
You're running into this I think: https://forum.unity.com/threads/2018-x-editor-versions-from-hub-not-running-at-all.771221/ There's a workaround posted in that thread.
ty ty ty !!! \o/ I've just removed the ...unity/2018.4.14f1/Editor/Data/UnityExtensions/Unity/VR/Linux64/ folder and it started well. I hope it is needed only for VR projects, and I will not have errors in my projects without VR.
