unity 2017.4.2 not recognizing nvidia card running dx11

    Hi I am not sure what to do. The Unity editor will not run with my nvidia gtx 1050 in a Dell xps 15 9560 (windows 10). I have tried what all the forums say. I set high performance graphics card in nvidia settings for unity. I tried the -force-opengl on the unity short cut and changed the graphics api in the player settings of unity to run openGL. Unity is running very slow and I am not sure what else to try. It will not change from (DX11) at the top.
    any other suggestions? Thanks!

    Did you try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your nvidia ?
