Unity Hub allowed me to download 2017.4.0f1 even though there's no mention of it on the Unity website. Actually, when coming to type up this post, the "similar topics" feature just linked me to this: https://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new/unity-2017.4.0 But still no way to download 2017.4 without the Hub. Interesting.
2017.4.0f1 is the new LTS (Long Term Support) version. You can see it on this page: https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/lts-releases Comes with a 2 year support for major issues, but no new features.
That sounds great. Thanks for the info. I've never heard anything about Unity LTS versions before. Is that something that was just announced at GDC or something?
Yeah the LTS release is the official release when downloading via Get Unity link at the moment. Was that the intention? Should we be using that version as the latest official release? (if so that 2017.4 version isn't showing up for me in the Unity Hub)
yes there was a slight manipulation error that removed 2017.4.0f1 from the list for a short while, you can quit and restart the hub to see it appear again
I assume there are plans for additional patches (a la 2017.4.1)? There are still some pretty critical UWP issues and HoloLens issues in this build.
but as documentation we use the 2017.3 ones, right? https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/ManualVersions.html
