No, stand-alone builds refers to desktop apps. Anything on the iPhone/iPod touch is an "iPhone Application", but I can see that there is room for confusion.

OMG, multiple monitors, detacheable panes !!!!! Just running my current project on a second monitor while editing on the first : it feels so good, not to mention all the other "untasted" features ! :D :D :D

One question remains, though : did I really deserve this ?

    Great work UT!

I second Yann's statement: Detachable panes and multiple monitors support is awesome!

Different operating systems require different sets of files which results in different download sizes.

The Windows installer uses better compression than OS X one. Also, the Unity application in OS X one is Universal Binary (supports both Intel and PPC Macs), which is really like two applications inside of one.

I had my project done with 2.1 and I upgraded to 2.5. I loaded a lot of OBJ files and it seems that a lot of textures are not applied anymore...
Am I the only one ?

You will get a response, but please understand that we are being *bombarded* with emails today across the board. Normally 12-24 hours isn't unusual and to avoid that getting any longer we are actively on top of the incoming queue like you wouldn't believe. Sit tight and extend us some patience and we'll reward you with trial goodness.

Well since I can still play with the indie features, I will be very patience for the response :)

    I ... I ... I love you Unity Team! Weeeeeee!

Quick question which I am sure has been answered a billion times before, but can I purchase unity right now from the store and does it come with the windows installer? I dont see any options for mac or windows so im assuming there is an installer for both?

If you go to the download page right now, it will auto-detect your OS but you can manually choose what to download (if, for example, you are on a Mac but need to download for Windows). So both are readily available.

The only difference between the trial and the full version (indie or pro) is the serial. UT doesn't sell Windows or Mac licenses (the same license works for either), so the existence of Windows didn't change that part of the equation.

Yes, you can buy from the store right now. You will get your license information, and download URLs, via email shortly after. You will be given both Mac and Windows installer URLs in that email.

And yes, this has been beaten to death many times here on the forums. ;) :)

I have Unity installed on two machines: my mac book pro and a mac mini. My mac mini is really just being used as an asset server for the whole studio. We have a bunch of licenses for Pro and iPhone with asset server access.

I just installed the trial of 2.5 on my Vista side of my mac book pro and I really like using the PC version(don't flame me, I bought macs for Unity dev).

Can I deregister my mac mini and use my second install on Vista instead?

If the Mac mini is being used as an asset server then why did you install Unity authoring on it? (that's not necessary)

Yes, uninstall the app from that machine and write us at support@unity3d.com and let them know you've uninstalled, that you want to migrate to a new machine and be sure to provide the serial number (we can look it up but that will help keep things faster).

Look at that beauty ! Smoothed movements when you press "F" in the editor... fly-through mode with the arrow keys and right mouse button... modifiable tool keys... rotatable mesh preview... big picture preview... import settings accessible in the inspector pane...

This is not fair, I was supposed to SLEEP tonight ! :D
