P.S: Obviously I'd love to know when it's going to be released ? Also, what way will new Unity 2.0 features effect Indie vs Pro ? And, are the prices going to rise ?

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENT!

ALL this at one time is incredible!

Congratulations on the hard work, it will surely pay off! Why would anyone use any other tool(especially for wii dev!!).

But forget about the Wii dev, the optimizations on the web player and streaming is simply incredible.

P.S.- Can someone post a highres of the the GUI image, pretty pleeeeease?

I'm even drooling thinking about making cool 3d websites!

Both the easy GUI and Streaming video features are an instant upgrade pull for me. Never mind all the other great features.

A bit annoyed about shadows. Still don't understand why startups/indie devs/hobbyists have to have reduced graphical features. Wouldn't it be more equitable to just have the mac only games limitation and a stipulation that if you make over a certain amount of money you must upgrade? I know i'd prefer to play with the wierder features of graphical rendering but can't justify buying Pro for what falls into extra curricular investigation at the moment.

After all most people on these forums seem pretty reasonable and happy to channel profits to OTEE.

Gorgeus, my sincere congratulations for all the team.

Now, if only someone could please confirm that we will also get a good solid UNDO, not only I would buy Unity right now, but I also promise to delete all the other engines from my HD... :)

    Keep up the great work.

Looks great! The shadows look sweet!

Are there any major improvements to the editor like grid snapping or undo? Those aren't as exciting, I know, but they would streamline productivity quite a bit!

Holy mother of all monkeys, that looks fantastic!

    Dancing monkeys, dancing monkeys!

    Woot!!!

PS. I am simply awed by the effort put in by the OTEE guys into making this app the very best it can be. I hope they realize the power they've unleashed by allowing so many of us to realize some of our own dreams. Wow.

Looks amazing. The DirectX performance improvement is very welcome, as are shadows networking, and the GUI objects.

(It's probably a must-have upgrade for me, if the upgrade price is reasonable. But it would be a must-have-on-day-one upgrade if source control compatibility was finally solved.)

    Love it.

Dear god man, I just bought 1.6.2 a couple of days ago and now you throw this at me :D . Looks...uh....WOW! I'll be upgrading to pro VERY shortly. The terrain engine and GUI stuff looks amazing. I was skeptical of unity at first because of GUI creation, but I see that was all for nothing.

Video playback is available in both web player/standalone/editor. You can even stream the video over the web, so you can start playing video while only a small part of it has been streamed from the web. Unity can import any .mov/mpg file and will convert it to the internal format which you can then publish.

So this is "summer", as in the next month or so right? :) I've got $ sitting aside for this upgrade, although its from a grant that expires at the end of July, so sooner rather than later would be good. :)

Fantastic news! Unfortunately, my car picked the wrong time to break down, and it's costing me a bundle.

But I'll still buy the upgrade, even if it means selling off my rare Faberge egg collection. :)

I just watched the sneak peak video, and I am honestly FLOORED at what's coming.

I have yet to get my Mac, (still waiting to get paid hahaha) I own a license for Unity Indie but no mac... can you tell I am pumped about this dev tool?

With that said, when I have the funds for 2.0 I WILL be buying the pro version.

Just a quick question on pricing..... Is 2.0 pro gonna cost more than the current pro version of Unity, for us first time buyers? Of is it still remaining $1499?

Best of luck on the launch of this amazing product.

    Take care

With a little Elmer's glue, the Faberge egg's worth will be back up to $100,000. Still interested? With that money, I could buy a few more Unity licenses and hire a team of coders and artists.

I guess the 9-month version I got from participating in 3DU will not be upgradeable? Well, I guess I'll have to dip in my iPhone funds I put aside. :)

This looks so impresive! Great job!
