Hi, I have a finished game that uses unet. I know that now it is deprecated, but if I decide not to update unity for that project never, will I be able to continue using that? I don't understand what exactly is the API and how is the relation with the NetworkManager component. I used this asset as base: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/104584?aid=1100lGeN I know there is a no-Unet version of that asset but I already finished the game and I prefer continue using unet. Thanks
Your asset link is broken, but Unet does not go away for editor versions which include it already. The NetworkManager is part of the Unet HLAPI (High Level API). If your game is working correctly, you have nothing to worry about, unless you're using the Unity Multiplayer Service, such as Unity's match making and relay services. These services will be shut down permanently at some point in the future (few years? I don't know if they gave a firm date yet).
Thank you so much! That's the info I needed. The asset is this: https://assetstore.unity.com/packag...hooter-io-with-battle-royale-game-mode-104584 so I think that it didn't uses the multiplayer services you said. Thank you again!
Yeah, you would know if you were using the Unity Multiplayer Service because you have to log into your Unity account on Unity's website, add your project, and enable that service for the project.
