    Hello All,

As we all knows there are many types of video games. I want to know something about game developing specifically fighting games. Like MKX , SFV, Tekken 7 and KOFXIV others games as well.

1)How much total budget of development cost of above games. specially MKX and KOFXIV.

    Any Video Games.

1)When release any games normally cost is $59.99 but if in-case game not success then price goes down, so my question is how much minimum developer or games companies must earn from the flop games to live their companies.

2)Most of the people are not buying games DVD they buy from console stores, So who gets more profit Console or game developers or Game company?

3)How console maker earn money, I mean game developers give money to console for releasing their games on console IF yes then how much?

Note: if i forget something please mention me.

    Thanks and Regards,

First I want to say Im not really that into the game industry and the information i have is often what I have heard or read somewhere else. Also could be remembered wrong or taken out from my butt. So take it with a nip of salt.

I imagine this being for a school paper....

    Any video games...

    1. Depends really on which company, how much was put into the game and also what other bills that has to be paid. Hard to say. Bigger company has a bigger crew and more expenses, still they can make a bigger game that may sell more copies to recover. Smaller company with not that much reputation, may have to risk it and go low.

    2. From what I have read you have to buy a license to sell on the game console store, then the game console company take around 20% (around this number was leak from what steam takes, per sold game) of what the game is sold on the store. This is often a secret and you write a (NDA?) contract not to share this information.

    3. Hard to say, its different from console to console and company to company. When you want to develop for a console you often need to buy a license, which you do by sending a request to the console company (sony, microsoft, nintendo) and asks for a price. I would imagine they dont have any set price so the price may shift between game developers. They can take more from bigger game developers. Its nothing they really can share because of NDA contract. Breaking one of those contracts can be really expensive. Then they also take a cut for every copy sold on the store.

I have a internship at a VFX company, and I know from friends that breaking a NDA contract can cost minimum $11452. Thats around 100 000 swedish kr. That crazy much.

I know that you asking for console specific. Here is some info from steam

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/219820/

    http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/FAQ.php

if that can help a little.

also people taking about what steam takes as cut for sold copy:

    https://www.gamedev.net/topic/662452-steam-takes-30/

Because of NDA its only what some indie companies has leaked, they say around 30% of the price goes to steam. I would imagine something similar for console developers.
