Unable to find tile palette or create a tilemap

Hello,
Maybe there is something I am missing but I cannot find anything in unity related to tilemap.
I have watched youtube videos to learn how to build a tilemap but every option they use is not present in my Unity Editor.
Is there something to download and install to benefit from tileset capabilities (seems available since october 2017) ?

I am using 5.6.3p2 version (I just downloaded it).

Tilemap was added in Unity 2017.2

After Unity 5.6, they switched to a year-based versioning system. It's now up to 2017.3

 

I am also having the same issue, "2D object" option only displays "sprite" and cannot see "tile map". I currently have the lates version 2019 installed.

 

Are you having this problem? Go to window, 2d, and I only see Sprite Packer, and not Tile Palette or Sprite editor.

Oh, and by the way, try going to Components/Tilemap

 

Does anyone know a solution to this? I can't create a tile, the option doesn't show, and I tried the latest 2 versions of Unity...

 

In 2019.1, Tilemap is in Create/2D Object and Tile Palette is in Window/2D. You should find them since the Tilemap package is a built in package, it's installed by default.

But I still can't seem to find TILE PALLETE

 

Im with the same problem, still waiting for a response.

 

I have the same problem, but starting a new project seems to fix it.

Window>Package Manager>All packages (wait til it loads everything)>Tilemap Editor>Install

 

Thanks. I've had Tilemap in my project for a while, but it got removed sometime during version upgrade conversions. All good now.

Hi All,
I had the same problem and the TileMap palette was already installed. My solution was similar to the advice above - I uninstalled then reinstalled and it's all good!

 

well, I found the solution, in a new project go to:
Window-->
Package Manager
Search for tile
it will show tile editor
install it at the bottom right button
and there you have it
