    Hello,

    I just tried to create a custom package. I followed the instructions on the documentation (https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/CustomPackages.html).

    When i try to add the package from disk i get the following error:

    Cannot perform upm operation: Unable to add package [file:I:/Unitypackages/Packages/<packagename>]:
    Manifest [I:\Unitypackages\Packages\<packagename>\package.json] is invalid:
    Package name '<packagename>' is invalid. [NotFound]
    UnityEditor.EditorApplication:Internal_CallUpdateFunctions()

    Not sure what i did wrong...
    Is there any solution for this?

    Best regards

    Hey, sorry to see you are having this problem. In the embedded package you are trying to add, what is the `name` field on the `package.json`? You can check it out here as per your logs: I:\Unitypackages\Packages\Restaurantbasis\package.json. My guess is that the `name` field value is not `Restaurantbasis`, that's why you are seeing that error.

    Try naming the folder to the value you have on the `name` field of the json file I:\Unitypackages\Packages\Restaurantbasis\package.json.

    Hi supitaUnity,

    Thank you for your reply and your help!

    I doublechecked this. The name in that field is the same as of the folder.

    I attached the folder of the package. I tested this on a new project (Unity 2019.4) with the same negative result.

    Must have missed that description-column.
