UMA Multi-purpose Character with uLink snowbox demo

    Hello,

    I bought the UMA in-game avatar system because I think its awesome, so I'm trying to get it to work with uLink, so that I can make a network game with UMA.

    As a test, I downloaded the uLink demo "snowbox", and tried to replace the boxman character in that demo with UMA Character, but that didnt work.

    In snowbox demo, there are actually three prefabs needed, Owner, Creator, and Proxy. I replaced all three with the UMACharacter, but no joy.

    I'm going totally crazy here, been working at this for weeks, nobody in UMA tech support has replied to my emails about this uLink compatibility issue

    I suspect that one issue could be, that the transform of the root UMACharacter object in the scene isnt actually changing when the character moves, but some child deep down is actually moving, while the parent and first child stays still, and the rest of the child's below that are created dynamically, with locomotion.cs for controlling the animation is attached in there.

    I added a uLInkNetworkView to the root UMACharacter to all three prefabs, but that didnt work in snowbox.

    The whole reason for getting UMA was to use it in an actual MMO game, but if UMA cant work with uLink, then......???

    I also tried UMA with some other network systems like uMMO, it wont work with that either, possibly because of the same reason as above (with the main UMACharacter object not moving, only the deep child is moving).

    I'm really a novice at this, but shouldnt the creators of UMACharacter make it as easy to use as possible to use, so that even a unity novice like myself could use it. We should be able to just drop a networkView on it,mrather than chase down specific child objects and programmatically attach network view to it. What if future versions of UMA is changed, then our code will break since we dont know which object to attach the network view to. It should be the root object at all times. I dont even know if thats the cause of the problem or not.

    Anybody succeeded in getting UMA to work with uLink "snowbox" demo, which is simple authoritative network multi-player game.

    That would be my first question as well.

    Also, what email did you used to contact us? Might be the case it got stuck on my spam box, could be the case if you´ve sent it using the UMA website.

    The one I "bought" was the UMA in-game avatar editing system, its also awesome by the way. Works great with no problems.

    I also figured out last night how to get UMACharacter to work with uLink, by doing RPC calls, but I thought I didnt have to do that with uLink, because the "snowbox" demo doesnt use any RPC calls, yet its character can move and animate on both client and server without any RPC calls.

    So can someone try replacing the character in the snowbox uLink demo with the UMA character?

    Oh, one other thing, I need to design additional animations, clothes, and races for UMA Character. Which of your tools would be good for those? Is there any expert I can hire to do it (since I'm new at unity).

    Are there additional animations, races, clothes, for UMA that are already made that I can buy and just drop it in to my game?
