    Welcome to the UMC (Ultimate Medieval Constructor) package. A fully modular, high quality PBR asset package, created by Aquarius Max.

    UMC available for $55 here:
    https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/97279

    This is the official forums for the package. This also includes the README file (also included in the package) to better understand the file structure of the pack!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    upload_2017-8-30_10-46-12.png

    This package, in its initial release, is made up of 479 modular prefabs, 2048res atlas textures, PBR materials, and great quality, with medium- low poly counts for most prefabs.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The video below shows a quick fly-through with a bird's eye view of the demo scene included! This is a full demo scene, taking up the majority of the terrain. Everything (Except the trees) is included. I do not own the rights to the trees, but they are available to download using Unity's Standard Assets!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Combine all 3 total "main" materials included in this package for a total of close to 1,300+ modular prefabs. 90% of everything shown in video, and screenshots, share only 1 texture UV layout, with a few extra textures for added props, etc..

    Electronic README here:

    **Important Notes, and Key Features:
    *Folder organization:

    IMPORTANT. Read this first, to prevent you from getting lost in the files structure!
    Each category is organized appropriately throughout the file structure, ex: Castles, Housing, Props, Nature, etc.. For each category, they are broken down into 3 folders each, named: "Wood Dark," "Wood Light," "Wood Old." This was made this way for an easier way to find prefabs associated with their corresponding materials attached! Since there are 3 main materials included, you have this fast / efficient way of selecting the prefabs that work for your scene, rather than having to go and change each material according to what looks you are trying to have in your scenes!

    Levels of Building:
    "Level of Building" is a key feature in this package, and you will find folders in the package with this name. These prefabs are made / created in different levels or "stages" for their looks. These prefabs are great for adding nice detail to your scenes, and also support full interiors, for both housing and castles!

    In some cases, you may want to build a scene that is "under construction" with many buildings and structures that are "incomplete," and either over time in your game, or when you collect more resources, these structures will have the "next level" of build looks available!

    This is especially great for survival games, or In-Game-Housing. If the character goes to build a house, then they only have level 1 walls available, until they either get more resources, or level up perhaps?

    Not only do you get the main 2 types of builds included (Wood, and Stone), but also a large supply of roofs! Some of these roofs even have their own "levels of building" with lvl 1 roofs constisting of just wooden foundations, and lvl 3 roofs, fully complete, with interior wooden beams supporting the structure! These are great for hanging lanterns insed of your houses on the upper floors, for addded decorations.

    Fast Housing / Castles:
    Fast housing / castles are for the exterior builds in your scenes. There are close to 100 total castle and house walls available to use. These models are great for quickly creating many different type looks for houses in a small or large town. But also great for Castle Walls to decorate the exterior parts of your scenes!
    House walls come in multiple sizes and floors, for easier building. There are wooden pillars available to place in between each wall, for added detail!

    Full support for roofing, consisting of many different types and sizes for the roofs. Along with house extensions, and wooden deck support. allowing you to make custom houses, very original, and with many different looks / alterations!

    The rest of the package is organized accordingly!

    ⦁ If you are in need of lanterns, fences, crates, barrels, etc.. Check the "props" folder, and you will find much of what you need!

    ⦁ If you are looking to dress up your scenes with some marketplace supplies, like food or cloth awnings, check the "Marketplace" folder, for many different type food items, included food barrels, which are great for quickly dressing up your scenes!

    ⦁ Trying to understand the best way to use some of these house wall models? See the "Modules" folder (near the top of the file structure) for many different modules that I built for you in Unity, that you may take apart or change materials as needed!

    ⦁ It may seem busy at first, but the file structure is built accordingly. This allows for easier updates in the future. If i add more textures, I'll add the corresponding Folder to allow you to find the new models / materials much easier.

    And the best part, I am always accepting requests. I will try and add what I can that is asked of me, if i think that it works / blends well with the package itself. Don't be afraid to ask me any questions, or just give some input about things you may want to see / changed.

    Already prepared are:
    - 150+ modular rocks
    - A few dozen trees, bushes, plants, and flowers
    - New water textures
    - New mossy brick structure texture
    - Pub supply (furnishing and food items)
    - A whole new supply of modular exterior house pieces!
    - New unique "Highlands" cliff / mountain prefabs made for background scenery
    - Fix on windows, adding new emissive texture for added lighting
    - New pine trees have been re-created for a more realistic feel
    - New castle structures and bridges have been made
    - Windows and doors have been made (along with window shutters for opening and closing windows)

    With this next update of v1.25, this package can easily be called as a standalone package, as far as scenery, props, environments, and structures go! I am not a character designer, nor have the appropriate knowledge of coding for you. But i do like to supply you with as much content as I can think of, while still keeping it affordable for most companies or indie developers!

    *All included demo scenes are "full" scenes (Mostly filled on a 500x500 terrain). I enjoy level design, and I want to share that passion. When you buy this kit, you have a lot of examples to work with, along with the README file to help you understand the file structure, and find pieces easier if you get lost!

    Here's a peak of my current W.I.P. demo scene (Highlands River), and the new "Highlands" cliff pieces (with texture painted grass tops).

    upload_2017-9-9_13-6-22.png

    As well, if there is anything that you like or do not like, please don't hesitate to ask or inform me! I'd love to help or listen how I can.
    Best Regards,
    Max

    Version 1.5 is coming soon, included with V 1.3 shown above, as a double update! (End of October)

    V 1.5 adds an entire new set of modular house pieces. These pieces are higher polys, higher detailed, with LOD's included, and many different variations accessible! 1 New texture has also been added, and is best used with these new pieces! (Mahogany Wood)

    *Some walls are so detailed, that they are built brick for brick, plank for plank, and shingle for shingle! (But don't worry, the frame rates are still wonderful, as the LOD's are made appropriate for each model!)

    More info will be available at a later time, once I wrap up this update, but here's a peak at some of the house modules that I've built for the new update! (These are made wall for wall, and are fully walk-able in and out!)

    Please note: No image effects were used when taking these screenshots, as I wanted to show you how the models look out of the box!

    I actual considered buying this after seeing a video by Messy Coder. However, one thing that bothers me is the lack of beveling on the stone corners of the castle pieces. I would love it if you could fix those. Bevels, even a very small one, can make a huge difference both in stone and wood.

    Thank you Teila. Part of why I've been creating this particular update, is due to the video that "Messy Coder" had released recently. I took all of his advice in the video to better the package itself.
    A lot of the wood is now beveled in the new demo scene (I'll post pics below), and much of the stone comes as separate bricks, or combined pieces, but not a flat wall with a "texture" on it. I've made sure to heighten the bevels, and keep everything more realistic, rather than just square edges of stone, and square edges of planks

    After this current update rolls out, I did plan on making a large castle update, with a lot of it being brick by brick, with destructible walls. Once I get that rolling out, the castle pieces will indeed look much better!

    I hope you can see the pic ok, just whipped it up real quick, Wood planks have bevels (and for wood walls), and bricks (separate and on walls) have a slight bevel for just that bit of extra detail. I've also included rock walls, for added building.

    upload_2017-10-18_14-25-41.png

    This does not mean that this is all thats included. This update would've already been done and released, if not for constantly adding more pieces, to ensure its quality and realism stays up to date!

    Lovely!

    However, I suggest you not do the walls brick by brick or if you do, give the option to just have a brick texture for a wall. I say this because I have that castle from TripleBrick and while I love it, it is very high in polys. The windows are brick by brick and they alone have made my modular castle far too many polys for the scene I intended it for. I had to take the entire thing apart.

    Options are good. Since you already have the walls, just bevel the outside corners of your columns/walls and leave those in the pack. Brick by brick is fine for some games, but not all. By all means, include the brick by brick too!

    You have convinced me though. I will be buying the pack shortly. I still remember your very first asset on the forum. You have come a long ways. I have enjoyed watching you improve over time. :)

    PS: You could make some high poly normals from the brick by brick and use those to make a texture with baked on normals on a low poly wall. :) Could be cool.

    Yes, and I do thank you, through the comments, others and yourself have given me in the past for my older (not so well crafted packs), has helped me to get where I am at now.

    -The brick by brick, will be available, but still with older models too. I always like to include options in my packs. I like the brick by brick, for rigid bodies, and destruction. But the other "flat" wall models are still available too, for more variety.

    But this update is mostly relying on the new house models, and new set pieces, as shown in screenshots. For now some of the models shown in Messy Coder's video are still the same, until i get that promised "castle" update out. More than likely will have that update released by December!

    That is essentially what I already have been doing with my new models, using what's called a "cage" technique, to generate the high poly look on the low poly pieces. It is quite fun, because yes, i can just keep repeating that with brick by brick looks, and keep making interesting normal illusions!
    Thanks!

    Thank you very much, for the second opinion on that factor. (I'm looking forward to releasing it as well!) Here's a quick look how one of the houses looks up close, with its modular pieces attached:
    upload_2017-10-18_15-31-32.png

    You can see the beveled wood walls in the background, and the beveled stone up close. Some roof piece as seen here, are "broken" with extra shingles placed around, and a hole that can be looked through!

    P.S. I'll be releasing a video either today or tomorrow, to showcase this coming update!
    Thanks

    Hello everyone! Its been some time since i posted here, or had any recent updates to this package, but i haven't forgotten! I am currently working on another major update called the "Siege Update."

    This siege update will include an entire new set of castle models and pieces, along with some working siege weapons to play around with too!

    Later today at 4:30pm ET (Eastern US Time), I will be doing a live stream on twitch showing a full showcase to this package for anyone who is still interested in this pack, but doesnt have enough confidence from just watching a few videos. But I will also be giving a peak into the new Siege update!

    Here's a screenshot of one of the towers included in this next update, and a link to my twitch. I hope to see any of you there later, come stop by, ask me any questions, and ill gladly answer the best that i can!
    Cheers!

    Not an artist so thought you might have some ideas here. Castle textures are not playing nice with the post processing stack (V2) with linear/deferred. Specifically adding even small amounts of contrast in color grading just makes all the textures go extremely dark where light isn't hitting them at a direct angle.

    The new update version 1.6 is now available!
    New video in the meta data shows a look at the new foundation houses, while I explain more about the package!

    There is a compile issue with having both the UMC and UFC in the same project. They both have the TextureScroll class:

    Assets/Ultimate_Fantasy_Creator/(NEW) PBR Update/(NEW) Rocks and Caves Pack/TextureScroll.cs(4,14): error CS0101: The namespace `global::' already contains a definition for `TextureScroll'

    Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll make sure to add it into its own namespace for next time, so others do not have this issue.

    I've added a Namespace in, try pasting this new code into the script (or just one of them). It should work fine. (I dont mind sharing this script here, its nothing special)
    Code (CSharp):
    1. using UnityEngine;
    2. using System.Collections;
    3.
    4. namespace AquariusMax.Demo
    5. {
    6. public class TextureScroll : MonoBehaviour {
    7.     public float scrollSpeed = 0.5F;
    8.     public Renderer rend;
    9.     void Start() {
    10.         rend = GetComponent<Renderer>();
    11.     }
    12.     void Update() {
    13.         float offset = Time.time * scrollSpeed;
    14.         rend.material.SetTextureOffset("_MainTex", new Vector2(offset, 0));
    15.     }
    16. }
    17. }
    Thanks

    Thanks, that's what I did. Works just fine that way.
