    Hey and sorry for the late replay, i only check this forum when i post updates, you may contact me at my email next time.
    Now for your question, Ultimate Inventory 5 (2016) does not really need something special on the prefabs (items), you only need to apply one script and a box collider, then you are free to add whatever scripts and store whatever you like on them. You can even add the amount of calories (example) on the description of the item so the player can view them when he click on the item.

    Hey man, I have seen you use RFPS and you seem pretty good at integrating inventories. Any chance you could make a video on integrating rfps and ultimate inventory c#? I'd be really grateful. Had them for months but I still can't get then to work together.

    Hey there, i know you weren't asking me, i just want to say that the new version of the inventory will have documentation about UFPS and RFPS. I'm planning on buying both assets just for the documentation.

    Created new project (Mac OS X) using v5.3.1f1, imported asset. Opened exampleFPS scene and while running & testing I get several (see below) of a similar "type" of error message in the console:

    Code (CSharp):
    1. Trying to add (Layout Rebuilder for) <error types>[1] (UnityEngine.RectTransform) for layout rebuild while we are already inside a layout rebuild loop. This is not supported.
    2. UnityEngine.Canvas:SendWillRenderCanvases()
    [1] error types
    ScrollView
    Resource Needed
    Content

    Let me know if you need more information.

    PS having the documentation in a PDF (vs docx) would be appreciated

    I'm updating my Unity right now to test it and post back. I will also convert the documentation.

    I updated my Unity to the 5.3.1f1 and i could get this error after playing around with the example scene, i suspect that it is an operation problem but before i download VM and install MacOS to test it could you please tell me when this error occurred ?

    Okay so after spending 10+ minutes using and testing the exampleFPS scene - I got ZERO errors.

    However after I exited play mode I did my normal routine of saving the scene and that's when this error shows:

    Code (CSharp):
    1. Trying to add (Layout Rebuilder for) Resource Needed (UnityEngine.RectTransform) for layout rebuild while we are already inside a layout rebuild loop. This is not supported.
    2. UnityEngine.Canvas:SendWillRenderCanvases()
    Then I opened the project in Unity 5.4b2 (yes, I know it's a beta ;) ) only to possible rule out a Unity error and after pruning out some code-errors I ran the scene and afterwards saved and got the same error as above.

    Additional info: I deleted everything and created a new Unity 5.3.1f1 project. After importing the package I opened the exampleFPS scene and just added an empty game object (never ran the scene) and saved and got two of these errors:

    I'm happy to help in whatever way - would it help if I tested it using an older version of Unity?

    Thank you very much for your time and for your feedback. I don't think we need to test it more since i made a google search and found out that a lot of Unity users complain about this error. (view here)
    It is a unity bug which occurs when you use the 'scrollbar' component.

    WOW!! Nice one dude! Just wondering when the pro version is available on the store. I will buy that too :D
    Your inventory came at a perfect time, my game is on steam now and I'm adding a building crafting mode, the building side is done but I wanna integrate with a inventory system. Im using RFPS so this saves me a lot of time. Thank you soooo much!

    The Pro(actually it is called survival because it has a built-in kit) will be available in a couple of weeks or maybe more, i want to give you guys the finished product with out bugs.

    Sadly yes, it occurs. I know mate, i try to find something to fix it but you need to remove the scroll-rects. I don't have this problem on my 5.2 version though.

    This asset looks like a good idea, I'm especially curious about the coming survival features.

    But as it is right now, it's not really usable:

    - You can't move stacks, only drag and drop one by one item
    - Split stacks doesn't work (most of the time)
    - Content of containers is not saved
    - Scrollable fields are always at the wrong postition (at the end) see crafting items description

    Hey there and thank you for your review. The feature to move stacks is going to be added on the next update, and the containers will also be saved. Now about the scrollbars i don't have this issue, are you sure you are not doing something wrong ? Send me a couple of screenshots if possible.

    Split stacks seems to work on me every time, you can send me a pic/video of it not working ?

    Sorry for my late reply. As you can see in the following screenshot, scrollable fields are always at the end when I open the inventory:



    Splitting stacks works as long as you just gather items and then split them. But as soon you move items around in your inventory (for example bringing together items again that have been split before) splitting doesn't work anymore.

    Looking forward to your next update. Any timeline, also especially about the survival features?
