    Hello,

My game is really text heavy, with dynamic font and best fit options enabled. Sometimes, after playing for a while, some of the Text elements just disappear or appear as gibberish text.
I've searched and found others with the same problem, but no one had a definite solution. It's something about the font cache/bitmap that hasn't enough space for all the font. You can see an example of the problem here: http://oi60.tinypic.com/wcd75k.jpg

I'm using Unity 5.1.4, and I don't want to upgrade it for now. Anyone knows how to solve this? Does the problem persist in later versions of Unity?

    Thanks.

We have fixed issues that could be this problem but its hard to say without you trying a newer version.
If you do want to fix this issue it will require an upgrade, there is no other way.
Backup your project and try the latest patch version, if you have issues then just roll back. You can have multiple versions of Unity installed on your machine so it should not be too much trouble.

It's also worth noting that sometimes if your UI elements have components with Image fields that are null (in their vanilla state, they are null) these can get assigned cache textures of the font data.

I've recently updated the project to version 5.3.4p1, but the problem remains. Some text is just unreadable, others disappear. This only happens in screens that have many text components. Any solution available to this?

Hard to say without seeing the project. Take a look at the latest patch release, they have another 5~ weeks of fixes. If its still broken file a bug report with the project so we can take a look.

****Reader Discretion is advised*** (I get ugly when I get bugged by Unity)
****Update: This issue did resolve itself randomly on its own but I decided to leave this text here...because....****

Is this some sort of joke?
Getting me to upgrade from Unity 4 to Unity 5.4 to fix an Input bug only to run into a breaking bug that was not in Unity 4....
Is that how the cycle in Unity works is it, because that's how it's been for me in the last two years.

This engines must be garbage under the hood. I have never seen a more unstable product in all my years.

What good is it to report a bug, that just introduces more and more delays. I have been waiting 2 years now to get a stable working build of an engine and what I got was a big f*ck you.

The blue selection doesn't scale properly too....upgraded for nothing!
