UCB Team - queue issues (13 November 2017)

    As noted in the discussion of a few other threads, today Cloud Build experienced queue issues with Personal tier builds, and occasionally some delays with paid (Unity Plus/Pro tier) builds as well. The culprit turned out to be a queue worker process which became stuck despite still logging output, and so it went undetected; one of the jobs of this process was to manage build capacity, so Cloud Build was effectively running many fewer builds than it should have.

    Restarting it was a bit tricky, however, as this needed to be done without interrupting all the other builds that were still going through the system properly. In the end, new code was rolled out to handle the situation, new monitoring is being put in place for this particular queue and its worker job, and as of this writing the paid tier has been running without delays for awhile, and the Personal tier should catch up over the rest of the afternoon.
