Hi I'm wondering how the latest 2018 versions are working on Ubuntu 18.10? Ubuntu 18.10 Is said to be a snappier so it would be nice to take it out for a spin...I'm using rider as IDE. Cheers, Stefan
Snappier? Are you talking about how Unity ui lags? Fix seems to be coming, but isn't out yet. https://forum.unity.com/threads/why-ui-is-so-sluggish.616432/
I assumed that the desktop environment was a part of it being more sluggish in general and 18.10 is supposed to have performance improvements. So there was an actual unity bug too, that great news...and of course... if 18.10 has improvements and works fine...that's even better
I develop on 18.10 and haven't seen any significant issues with 2018.3 or 2019.1 yet. I suspect you'll be OK, but please let us know if you do find something!
I'm using Pop_os 18.10 and all 2018 version are fine. Yet to test out 2019 beta apparently better UI performance. But keep in mind Unity editor on Linux has inferior performance to windows/mac in general, its sad, but its the reality, hopefully this changes soon. It is getting better and better. And if you're using Rider then you're gonna have a wonderful experience
