Tutorials in Unity Editor bring unity to a crawl

Using the editor works pretty decent, but I want to work through all the built in tutorials for some of the start games from the asset store.

The second I turn on the Tutorials, the whole editor becomes unusably slow.. literally a minute or more to register a mouse click, etc..

Is this a known issue with Unity on linux?

Happens on 2018.4.19f1 and 2019.3.5f1.

try 2020.1 beta where they stripped out whole asset store browser from the editor.
