Tutorial Request: Unity GUI from PSD

Here's the scenario, the artist got the specs from the designer for the character creation UI, and has dropped me off a PSD of how the interface looks, and it looks something like this:

Are there any Unity themed tutorials on how to approach GUI's this style(starting with a concept of the UI and going from there rather than building up from unity components)? If not anyone feel like writing one?
