Discussion Turning VR headsets "wireless"

Hi,

Will it be possible to use VR headsets like Index or Vive wirelessly, in the sense there won't be a mess of crawling cables on the floor? The power can easily be so with a 12v power bank for Index. However, for the other connections, DP (or compatible USB-C) and USB 3.x dongle pairs would be required. Do such dongles exist, and if they do, do you think they will work in practice?

Oculus Quest 1 & 2 has airlink wireless, works fine too.

 

Thanks, but my organization only has Index and the old Vive (without suffix) at the moment. I'm not sure the adapter works with the old Vive (the website says Cosmos and Pro, not even Focus).

 

google suggests that it works with original vive also, but might miss some cable that you then need to acquire..
