    Solved, thanks.
Changing the layout better than it was doing.

    My fault.

    Thank you.

I usually do a backup before upgrading to a new point release of Unity but it's occurred to me, I don't know how to restore to an older version. Would I use the CLI for this?

Sorry for the late reply, but I missed your post. :(
You could use CLI, but you could also just open TB in the older Unity version an restore the backup.

Hi, I have purchased almost all your tools. I mostly find them to be excellent. However, I do have a suggestion for TB Pro, I would love to see the ability to save multiple backups (user defined) and then restore whichever I choose. For example, the default number would currently be 1 backup, but I should be able to choose 3 backups, or 10 or more (nearly infinitely I would think). I am certain I am not the first nor will be the last to ask for this.

I see that you say in your answers to others that this functionality would not make it turbo, but I don't see how having a base backup and then saving only what has changed in a new directory would be that difficult for you to implement, or would slow things down that much at all. Even if you didn't do that, and just allowed us to save multiple complete backups, I would be OK with that. I'm not looking for version control, but I would like the ability to revert back to an earlier backup.

Especially if auto-save was turned on, I would lose my good backup entirely, potentially. It really defeats the purpose of auto-save if you end up losing your good backup.

I realize you have the methods to call before and after backup that would allow me to do this myself, but it kind of defeats the purpose of having the asset in the first place. I think most of us expected the tool to manage multiple backups.. :(

    Hi

We will think about your suggestion for the upcoming major release. We prefer to keep things simple and therefore, we currently like our idea of predefined slots (e.g. 1-9).
This would mean, you simply select a slot for the "Backup" and "Restore" in the "B&R"-tab and you will have the possibility for 9 different revisions.
Hopefully this is a step in the right direction. We may some day add more configuration options, but as I said, we like to have powerful tools for everyone.

    Cheers

This would definitely be a step in the right direction! As for the auto-save, if you could specify which slot would be autosaved (or have one slot dedicated to autosave), that would be fine.

Is it possible to stop the Global Illumination Rendering before to start the restore?
'cause pretty messy things can happen if you restore your file and in the meantime Unity start to render the GI :D

Yes, I know I should deactivate the option, but forgot it, and this impudent start just when I click on restore XD

    Hi

It depends on where you stored the backup and if you haven't deleted it. Per default, it's in the project folder under "TB_backup". If the backup still exists, you could create a new Unity-project, import TB, select the backup folder and restore it.

I hope that helps you further.

    Cheers

Thanks for the info and quick reply. This is the first thing I tried before writing this post. I installed the same unity project version used before, then installed Turbo backup pro (latest rev) but when attempting to retrieve from the hard drive, it says no backup found. Restore is not possible. Please use backup first. My backup was store on a different drive.

Just a little update. I just copied the backuped files to a drive and open it directly with Unity. After a long compilation process , the backuped session works great! Really happy! Thanks for your help!

No I did not But I just did a quick test a few minutes ago and now I am retreiving another backup and it seems to work. It better to retore this way (thru Turbo backup Pro) because I won't have to backup everything again.

Thanks for your help. It's good to see that it works really well. This is definitely a must have asset. I will take 5 minutes to write a review tomorrow.

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the great update. The multi threads backup will be really useful. Would you mind sharing what are backup slots?

    Hi!

Until now, TB had only one backup at the time, now you can have up to 16 different ones per project.
Let's say you use 7 slots (to represent a week) and now you can use e.g. 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday etc.
This means, you have the possibility for further rollbacks in the past.

I hope this answers your question.

    Cheers
    Stefan

We've just released version 2023.2.0 of Turbo Backup.
    Main changes:
    • Complete code cleanup
    • Updated to Common 2023.2.1
