Trying to understand at a basic level how navmesh and ml-agents fit together?

Searched a lot and couldn't find. Are they competing/overlapping, or do they work together?

    Thank you!

So navmesh is pathfinding, but is it needed for other times when you have MANY separate entities with different ai behaviors (pathfinding being one of them), like Battle Simulator? Can you use ml-agents for pathfinding too?
