I have been able to open pst tutorials no problem but when I try to open my "Creator Kit: FPS" I cannot open it. I usually press "Open Project" from the UnityHub(example below) but it is grey and won't let me click it whereas it usually is blue to open(example below)

Same problem here. And I have the latest version of Unity (2019.2.3f1) installed through Unity Hub.

The option "Open project" is enabled in some of the Learn projects (Creator Kit: Beginner Code, for example) but is disabled in others (Creator Kit: FPS and Creator Kit: RPG, for example).

I think I found a way around this problem, but I don't know if it's the "right" way to do it: creating an empty project and then importing the .unitypackage files located in %AppData%\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store-5.x\Unity Technologies\Project.

An update: installing a previous version of the Unity editor (2019.1.14f1) seems to solve the issue. They do not work with 2019.2, then.

I also experience same issue with Projects "Creator Kit: RPG". Is the answer to the problem only installing a previous version of the Unity editor ?

Every tutorial requests a different versión of Unity.
Very often, the tutorial have a upper "limit" versión, so you need exactly a versión request.

I'm not able to open any tutorials that I'm trying to download either... I'm trying to learn unity, but every project I download never shows an "open" screen.

Hello, could you please download the latest possible 2019.2 version, create a new project using the Hub and then try to download this project via the built-in Asset store?
Make sure to set the version using the dropdown before creating a new project (see the picture attached)

    Hi,

There has to be an easier way to deal with this. In my work setting, I do not have admin rights to install, so I have to put in service requests that take forever to get installed.

I went to the FPS Microgame in the assets store as suggested here and found this message:

"Important: This package is currently not supported in Unity 2019.x"

So it's likely the hub won't let you install it because you don't have a compatible Unity version installed.

    Just guessing, maybe I'm wrong.

    Hi
This happened to me too. I have just downloaded the newest version 2019.3.9f1 but this time I looked a bit more closely and noticed that I had forgotten to choose a platform so I choose the windows platform and after installing all of this I can now open the projects

How is this still an issue and how come there's only been ONE official Unity response on an issue that effects so many new gamedevs? Shameful...

This is super confusing, I went around in circles for a while just trying to add the project.

Viewing from the Learn tab in the Unity Hub? Click Download Project > Open Project to automatically open it in Unity.

Thats in the text on Unity Hub.. and there is no Download Project to be found anywhere.. just a link back to the website that points you back to unity hub..

    upload_2020-9-19_22-47-57.png

EDIT: I now installed all three versions of Unity 2020, 2019 and 2018 and I still don't have a download project button. (2020.1.6f1, 2019.4.10f1, 2018.4.27f1).

This is the most prominently displayed Project and it's impossible to download and it just leads to an endless loop! Madness!

EDIT 2: Now that I look at more of them, out of all the Projects featured in Unity Hub, only one is downloadable for me, when I have installed all three versions of Unity!

Having same problem with VR Beginner Escape Room on MacOS, no open project button .. very frustrating, guess I won't be learning Unity after all.

If anyone is still having this issue, this is what worked for me. Even though the project said (on the project page) that it was for Unity 2017.4 and up; I had to select 2017.4 specifically and suddenly it was able to open.

Once it opened it had a S*** ton of errors, the way I fixed it was by closing out of Unity, opening Unity Hub and then switching the version on that project from 2017 back to 2020. Unity warned me there would be some issues but once it opened it appears to have worked.

Before that I was using the 2020 Unity release to no avail
