    Hi everybody,

I have Unity 4.5.5 and I've some issues with trees and terrains: the shadows of the trees are really "blocky" as it's made by cubes and this looks really ugly...

I have set up a scene with a terrain, a tree model taken from the Unity package "Tree Creator" and a directional light set to Soft Shadows (I know that realtime shadows are supported for Unity Free just with Directional Lights). I've changed my quality settings as described here (http://snap.ashampoo.com/npzh1er3), my light is set up this (http://snap.ashampoo.com/0ixlYfr2) way and I think Unity uses DX11 (because there is DX11 written on the header of the Window).

    This is the result: http://snap.ashampoo.com/Ld0zjyvN

I've googled for it and found the same problem with Unity Pro and the answer adviced to increase the Shadow Cascades to 4 (as I have done) and to disable DX11. Before disabling DX11 I need to know two things:
    1. How can I do it?
    2. Why DX11 does not suport decent shadows? There has to be a way to make those shadows supported on DX11...
    Thanks in advance!

It's not my fault: they are automatically deleted after one month. However, I think I was able to get rid of the problem by setting the leaves from "planar" to "biplanar" and then back to "planar".

I've finally figured it out by reimporting the asset itself. I couldn't do none of that complicated stuff haha.
