    Hi Folks,

    I am developing my first title - A top down action RPG. Most of the asset and scripting working is finished. I want to show you guys a small gameplay video from the game.

    From modelling, texturing, animation to scripting, all the work is done by me alone. I plan to sell the game on steam. Any feedbacks appreciated.

    Here is the video :-

    What elements are there that make it a RPG? From the video it seems like a straight top down shooter. I know a short video doesn't show everything which is why I ask.

    If someone has to ask this, then the video does a poor job of displaying the RPG aspects of the game despite all the action. Maybe you should make another video or drop the RPG word.

    Please dont grill me for the use of the word RPG only. I wanted people to see the work thats being put in and give some feedback.. Criticizing alone doesnt work...

    It's too bad you didn't take my criticism well. I don't see anything in the video that I would find problematic as far as gameplay is concerned, other than hearing the gun reloading sound so much that it would annoy the Hell out of me personally. Therefore, I had nothing critical to say about it.

    However, calling your game an RPG and not displaying any sort of RPG aspects in your video is something to criticize and clearly I'm not the only one who feels that way.

    OK, so I won't mention that the video of your action RPG doesn't show any RPG elements. I'd say that the lighting needs work. Several buildings appear to be fully bright on the side that's casting a shadow - looks weird. Also, the footprint sound I think should be replaced (it's kind of bad). On the bright side, the action looks very fluid, the effects are great, and the mech is super cool.

    I simply asked what elements you had in the game that made it a RPG. Still would like to know.

    Yes lightening seems too strong specially on some texture roofs. Better sounds for shooting or modified ones, caus it seems this is sounds used everywhere.
    About level design it looks more like houses and stuff placed on top of terrain without real navigation or main paths;
    if it is some town it should have some entrance , exit, some different areas like stocks area, town houses area etc ...
    Also propose some paths where you have to get rid of ennemies to progress cau of houses and walls on the sides blocking you.
    As characters and level uses some cartoon outlinne, i owuld not use so realistic or detailled textures on ground , but some more blurred or near cartoon style, it would draw less attention from player to concentrate more on ennemies.
    Same for houses perhaps less realistics texture or modified ones ?
    Explosion effect of stuff, could me more smooth , it is gray smoke then suddenly some flames in it, and it disappear suddenly, but it's beta phase of project it seems.

    Great job for one man project :)
