toons with better outline?

    i'm a total noob with shader but i guess there should be better looking outlines for this shader...

    yeah i found that but didn'y understand how he gets those nice borders and a non-burned texture

    Your model needs more polygons and less sharp angles, that will make the outlines look better. Try subdividing it a couple of times.

    The black outline is calculated based on the difference in angles between each edge between two triangles. The flatter the angle, the smoother the outline will appear. So really the trick to making outline look nice is all handled in how you model the object.

    Try this: Apply the toon outline shader to a basic sphere and see how it looks. Then apply the same shader to a basic cube and see how it looks very different.

    Just remember the rounder the better.

    i wanted this game to work also on the iphone (when it will be possible) so i'm trying to keep triangles less as possible.
    i guess i'll give up on borders
    but i'll keep that in mind! ty
