Tizen Mobile App Incentive Program!

Of course it's not a scam, lol. Winners will get their money for sure. My complain is the lack of information from them and when I get an info, it feels like excuses for lazing around.

 

Tizen ecosystem lack lot of organization, and this from the coding of the OS itself (Tizen OS is reportedly full of security holes), and the Tizen Store (the app discoverability, searching, app validation system...), and the apps monetization, and the lack of informations and miscommunication about challenges, to the delays and complicated steps placed ahead of developers to receive their prizes... Seriously, Tizen team have a lot to do to make Tizen ecosystem mature and competitive...
I really hope that Tizen team will reorganize they-selves to make Tizen a serious alternative to Android and iOS, not another failed OS like Bada, BB10, WP...

 

Do any of you guys send e-mails to Tizen to ask about the payments? I think if we don't force them like this every few days, they won't do anything. I am sending e-mails every 3-4 days.

Edit: What I meant by forcing them was, instead of complaining here which results nothing, we could e-mail them and let them know that.

 

Nope, we trust you as the lead.
Let's wait till month end and let them do their due diligence, before taking drastic actions. e.g, mass chasing for payments...

yes , received mail for April Incentive. But this time they didn't mention how many apps won for this month in total
Earlier they used to mention the count of apps who will receive incentive. Probably they just want to hide the stuff now.

 

No wonder, probably won only a few. Every month less and less...

Can the apps which have won can be changed to payed apps after winning.

 

why not? Just don't delete the app until the end of the year.

Just asked out of curiosity, as I don't see explicitly being mentioned this any where in tizen terms and conditions.

 

If any issues pop-up (touch wood), just create a promotion discount of 100% and it's FREE again.

 

I got more than 41'000 downloads in May for a new game , I hope it's enough .

I am working on a new game, I will publish it tomorrow for June.

I have a Tizen device, and I know my game was sometimes 97th in the top free, but that doesn't mean the game was in the top100 more downloaded game for 1 complet month.

 

I got 38000 downloads.

Tizen is doing something strange , any application reach 20,000 install suddenly the daily installs decrease 95% of the usual daily installs ,it happened with me with 3 apps , the installs went from 4000 daily to 100 suddenly , be careful

Tizen just wait 20'000 downloads before remove the game from "New free" or "New paid" to let the chance for others new games.
If your game is good, your downloads will stay above a 1000 downloads per day.

For Android and iOS, a game will stay in the New games only few hours.

 

How do you know that 42 is not enough? What is the threshold in your opinion?

 

i think threshold is 35k

 

i had app with 42k and it did not get to top free, i think threshold is rises, i don't know how much need now! but in feb my app won with 48k!

 

In April apps with 38k won easily.

 

Which month you didn't win with 42k?

 

I think Tizen just wanna save some money by making the same top 100 that already won stay in Top 100 for next months , so they don't have pay for new app got in in the Top 100 , Thank you Tizen for making us Developing games for nothing thank you for scamming us

I think the treshold is going down instead of up. On Feb there wasn't any limitation on new free apps and games. Now they won't let any game stay in there after 20k downloads.

Did you win for may. I didn't although had 33,000+

 

FYI : May, Top 80's around 42k.
Assuming 300 per step, 20x300 = 6000. Position 100, approx 36k

 

We didn't win with 35.4k, sooo close
Had 4k DLs, then droppend to few hundred, then back to 2k (for two days) then dropped again to ~200. If IAPs actually worked, then those 20k "free" downloads in the beginning really would be something, only if ...

 

Yes, I am in the May top100, it's my first time .
I have to work hard to have my new game in the July Top100.

For June, I think my download will be not enough , only 1000downloads per day in average for the moment.

I received the Tizen email about what I had to send by email and by mail.
I have already everything and sent everything by email.

 

I wanted to share my experience here.

1st case:
I won in May for the first time this contest, I was very happy.
After some days Samsung wrote me this :

I use a picture with the approval from the website infringed, I asked to Samsung to forward me the email from this website, but I never received it.


2nd case:
I published a new game for July, and Samsung decided to suspend my game for DMCA reason after 2 days with more than 4000 downloads per day.
But I bought the picture on www.shutterstock.com for $50 with commercial usage.
I am losing thousand downloads, and my game was ranked 2 this morning.


So, I think more and more Samsung try to find a solution to keep the money.

 

1st case : I just received a email from Tizen about 1 document was missing, so I think everything is fine now.
2dn case : Finaly, Tizen re-activated my game , but I lost 500-1000 downloads more or less.

I hope the next time, Tizen will send me a email instead of suspend a game with no reason.
