Question Timing animations across two layers.

    I have an upperbody and a lowerbody layer in my controller and I want the upperbody to perform an animation but keep the lowerbody walking. When I trigger the upperbody animation it goes back to walking but is out of sync with the lowerbody walking animation. I want the transition to start the upperbody walk animation on the same normalized scale as the lowerbody but I cant get it to work. I just want to know if I need to do this with code or is there a setting in the animator I can use. I understand my explanation might be confusing but I am short on time and this is kind of a hail mary.
