I've been working on an one-size-fits-all time of day solution. In order to manage the state of all these contextual gameobjects and assets, Playables seem like the way to do it.

While I have a pretty solid grasp on what I want the API to be, allowing designers to easily edit and change time of day is still a big ol' problem.

I figured I'd try to create a simple time of day timeline, which was a pretty smooth experience all things considered.

The problem with this approach is that timelines are bound to the scenes they are part of, while time of day needs to have an affect cross-scene, even if that scene gets loaded additively, so I'm opting for some kind of "TimeSync" component instead. Pun intended.

Still, what do you all think of the proposition of using timelines for regulating your time of day? It would certainly work for small games. Jay, nay? Be sure to write a comment as to why (not) if you have some opinions about it!
