    Hey everyone!

I wanted to present you my non-game app that i created with Unity during the past 3 weeks primarily for the Evernote Devcup.

    Description:
Timehall is a new way to experience your social media data. It displays your information gathered from multiple social media services like evernote and facebook and displays them on a timeline in 3D.

    Video:

    More information and voting:
Some more information can be found on the devcups entry page if you're interested.

If you like it, I would also appreciate if you vote for it on the following page:

    Some Technical details:
I thought I just throw some how-did-I do it facts into the room, for those interested :)
The current version supports only Android, and since I only had Unity basic I could not use .net sockets. So I used native java code to get the data, and then call it from Unity. The other reason for doing it that way was quite simple: It was faster to develop, since I only had around 3 weeks time for it.
There is one exception to it though, all images are loaded with Unity's WWW classes, though there were some problems performance wise. (Converting the image data to an texture takes way too long and makes the app lag).
For visualization I used NGUI so I could easily display the information in 3D.

    Thank you for reading!

Congratulations for programming and integrating these things together.
The presentation on the other hand is very weak.

Yes, I'm aware of that. And if you are referring to the video, I sadly only had the last day time for it, and since I have no experience in doing videos or presentations it just did not turned out so well. But thanks for the feedback :)

I'm not talking about the video. Is the way you display the information in your application that I think is not appealing. You should find a designer and ask him to help you define a better way to present the info.
It is a damn hard task to make the shift in perception from 2D way of displaying info we had used to, to a 3D interface. Displaying videos and textures on a plane in space makes the simplest HTML page much more appealing.

    Hey,
thanks for the clarification! Since my skills are limited to programming and ideas, I'm not really good at visual aspects. I would have asked some graphic guy if I would know one, but since this is still an early version, I will probably rework the visualization.
