Congratulations - to me! I've been looking forward to playing this :)

(And to you for making it of course...)

    Great game!

You offer too much in the demo!
You can play 3 courses and there are 3 courses in in the full game?
I think you should limit to one course in the demo or offer 6 courses in the full game.

The game has "frozen" 2 times: the ball was stopped but still moving for the engine, so I was able only to move the camera.

I like the graphics but I think adding a bump map to the bricks would make even better!

    I like it, it's cute!

I think, as was already said, you're giving way too much away in the demo. WAY too much.

    Also, a few notes:

    1) I would save the "sweet shot" replays for when I actually make a sweet shot. A 10 foot putt isn't all that great. I would save that for hole-in-1's or shots that deflect at least once before going in, etc. A straight shot should really never count for that as the terrain is basically completely flat. It isn't like I had to read the green to make the shot or something.

    2) I despise that fruity drink power up. The one that makes the ball drunk, you know? Hinders me and adds nothing to my experience except annoyance.

    3) I would include some more information in the demo. I don't know what any of the power ups do, I don't know how the obstacles work (like wind tunnels) - heck, I don't even know how to shoot when the game starts. You're throwing me into fairly deep water here without a life raft. And no, people won't read the PDF file you include with the game.

But it's fun and has a lot of potential!

    Congratulations!

I only have one "big thing" to point out. Sometimes when the ball gets behind an object (e.g. barrels) and we have our view blocked by the barrels. In these cases I think that you should have applied an material with alpha, to make the object semi transparent. Some times this also happens when we get near the wall, but because the wall is small, it's not that intrusive.

    Regards,
    Afonso

Long awaited, this is such a lovely game! Your style is great, and knowing that you're not hard-core programmers makes me even more impressed with your results.

I like the music a lot. Kudos to whoever did the music and sound design. The art is also nice, especially the 2D elements and the manual.

I also found a bug. On Hole 9 in Course 3 (the fire set), I was having much difficulty in getting into the crack in the wall that you must go down. After about 6 strokes or so, the game wouldn't let me play any more. I could look around with shift held down, but could not get the power meter to change or the arrows to come up. I played through the other courses just fine.

"Feeling so good, drunk with giddy excitement and relief that the project is now done and doing so well, Charles happily shows forum members how he did that cool pull back, move force bar, draw line and shoots script! And the forum members thank him profusely!"

I wouldn't expect it in this case, since Freeverse is handling the game.
