Hi, can't find an appropriate section to post this.

I subscribe to threads I want to keep track of. Alerts from some threads come but some doesn't. I think it's a bug with the forum software. Can you fix it? Thanks

I need a tangible example to send to the web developers.

Can you point out a thread you are watching that you have no received alerts for.

With the old forum this often happened to me too, and judging some comments, I was not the only one. This new forum seems to behave better in that regard though.

Same here actually. I've watched the thread but haven't received alerts for it in a while.

easyroads v3 foruöm for example. Yesterday I said myself, "for a long time, there is no news about it" and then checked the thread manually and saw that there are tons of messages.

But it's not limited to this thread, happens most of the time with several threads

I've noticed the forums will "drop you" from alerts for watched threads. For example, if you are watching a thread, but ignore the alert or don't scroll to the last post, it will no longer give you alerts for new posts. If you do go back to the thread and view the latest post, it will give you an alert the next time something new is posted.

If that's the case, it's not effective or efficient. One can simlpy drop watching it if don't want to get alerted. I hope it will be fixed.

The thing I'm observing, and it looks to be by design, is that if you do not read a thread when you get an alert, you don't get another chance. Not entirely sure I want an alert every time someone makes a post though, the "there may be more posts after this" works well enough for me.

Yes there are several built-in mechanics to avoid alert spam like that only one notice or no alert if the thread is open in one tab. However there still seems to be some bug like with the Unity 5 launch thread. I have also problems with few asset threads that are active but I never seem to get alerts. I never had these problems here in the threads here in discussion section.

Hi, I think you are talking about e-mail messages that the forum sends when a new alert comes, "there may be more posts after this" is written in e-mails . Maybe if they can give alerts on the forum for every post but not e-mail it everytime until you check the thread would be a good feature.

This is an old thread, but I must say, many of the alerts just stopped cold a couple of days ago.

I'll get alerts on a newly watched thread for several days, then they stop. Seems to happen in every thread eventually.

I went to my alert preferences and all the boxes were checked. Nonetheless, I clicked the submit button as if I had made a change (which I had not), and I am beginning to receive alerts again. There may be a disconnect between the settings I see in my Latest Alerts panel, and the settings that are actually in the Unity system.

Yes this problem still persists. I need to check all my watched threads manually every few days

Agreed, this problem still exists. I only receive alerts for a few of my "watched threads." Alerts are not reliable.
