    Even if that image is a joke (of which I'm not convinced) I'm pretty sure there are places who do this.

    You're suggesting discussing the realities of App Store ratings and/or the ethics of farmed ratings in a thread about memes? Seems like it'd be a bit of a derail to me. ;)

    The thing I found kind of interesting about the photo is that on the floor you can see some discarded foot-lever control thing (possibly from a sewing machine?). Meaning this iPhone farm setup is possibly a converted textile sweatshop. Is it now more lucrative for the people behind the operation to sell app downloads/ratings than to produce goods?

    I could be way off, but it gives me the impression that it's someone's home. (I think it's the curtains that does it.) Plus, while I've almost no knowledge to base this on, the person in the image doesn't exactly look like a sweatshop employee to me, and it doesn't look crammed enough to be a sweatshop. As in, there's a bit of open floor between the two racks, which I wouldn't expect of someone running the kind of business where income is derived from bums in seats.
