    Hi there. New to Unity and trying to install Personal on a Mac. When I try to activate a personal license I get this error:

    "There was a problem activating a new personal license. Make sure you are logged in, and have internet connection."

    There's a Try Again option, but it just repeats the same. I'm logged in and online. If I try manual activation I get another issue altogether. I'm able to download the license request and generate the license file, but when I try to activate I see:

    "Unable to save license"

    Not sure what's going on here. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Same issue. I have one license on my PC which works and I just wanted to install one on my MAC to compile for iOS (With same Unity account).
    So far I haven't found any solution online. One person with the same problem wasn't able to fix it and simply concluded to not use Unity.

    Same here. I have a windows VM with the same account and it works; just obnoxious to have to use that. I have to believe the Mac version works

    Same. I have problem with Unity Hub 3.0 beta v4. But if I downgrade version to 2.4.5, I can get the license

    Thank you so much! That actually did it for me. I tried manual activation and changing network adapters (as suggested by Unity support in some forum) but nothing worked.

    Thanks for this workaround! I downgraded to version 2.4.5 by changing the channel to Production in the Unity Hub settings. You will then get a notification that version 2.4.5 is ready to be installed. After, installing and relaunching 2.4.5 I was able to activate the license.

    Actually, I had to return my personal license and reactivate it in Unity Hub 2.4.5 because Unity 2020.3 was failing to launch even with Unity Hub 2.4.5. I hadn't used Unity in a while so there seems to have been a glitch with the old license I had.

    I had the same issue, suddendly appeared this error.
    The solution is very simple:
    Go to Unity Hub -> click on you profile (upper-left corner) -> Sign out -> Sign in again

    If still doesn't work, return the license, perform steps above and get a new license.

    I solved in this way.

    I tryed with both hubs. 2.5 and 3.0 beta: I can't get a license. The Editor simply doesn't run. Hub says there's no license. I tryed manual activation, got the file but no luck....

    SOLUTION:
    I gave full permissions to my user at security tab of folder properties window and unticked "read only" attribute. I did it with 2 folders:
    1. Where unity was installed
    2. C:\ProgramData\Unity (it is a hidden folder).

    You must have administrator's rights to do that.

    Hi, please upgrade to Hub 3.0 beta 5 and try it. It should work.

    Can confirm this does NOT work with beta 5 OR beta 6. Am also unable to downgrade to 2.4.5; Hub does not give me a notification when I switch to Production branch. Worked after upgrading to beta 6.

    Running on Windows 7 (I know I need to upgrade, I need this to upload a VRChat avatar in the meantime)

    Guys, the solution is,

    first close unity hub, then run unity with administrator . Done

    I switched to production channel, restarted, and managed to get the license. It now certainly looks like an older version, but the version still says 3.0.0 beta 6. I'm not complaining since it works fine, just confused.

    Same with beta8. Tried everything and only reverting to production version helped.

    Ich hatte auch das Problem und das hat bei mir geholfen:
    I also had the problem and this helped me:

    Deutsche Anleitung:
    1. Unity Hub schließen
    2. Taskmanager öffnen(rechtsklick auf die Taskleiste -> Task-Manager)
    3. oben in der Leiste auf Details klicken
    4. runter zu Unity Hub scrollen
    5. Unity Hub schließen(rechtsklick auf Unity Hub -> Task beenden)
    6. Schritt 5 wiederholen, bis alle Unity Hub Tasks geschlossen sind
    7. Unity Hub mit Adminstratorrechte starten(Weiß nicht, ob es auch ohne funktioniert)
    8. Lizens erstellen

    English instructions:
    1. Close Unity Hub
    2. Open Task Manager (right-click on the taskbar -> Task Manager)
    3. Click details at the top of the bar
    4. Scroll down to Unity Hub
    5. Close Unity Hub (right-click Unity Hub -> End Task)
    6. Repeat step 5 until all Unity Hub tasks are closed
    7. Start Unity Hub with admin privileges(Don't know if it works without it)
    8. Create a license

    This was the ONLY thing that worked for me. As was mentioned, you have to ENSURE all Unity Hub processes are killed before relaunching in Administrator Mode. Else, the license won't be found or can't be created.

    I don't know why these guys at Unity are still fooling us around. Why not to explain in simple words how to resolve this issue.

    But the current version is 3.0.0 Production, not beta, it doesn't let me downgrade

    Same problem, Hub 3.0 production does not identify any license, incl. entering the serial number

    I am also having this issue. I recently downloaded Unity Hub and the current version is 3.0.0. I'm new to unity....is this how it always is? Are there any fixes?

    Still the issue - new MacBook Pro M1 MAX. Tried activating through the new license - says "There was a problem activating a new personal license. Make sure you are logged in, and have internet connection.". If trying to activate via "Activate with License Request" - it ends up with "Unable to save license". Production channel. Version 3.0.0 (3.0.0). Tried rebooting, reinstalling, signing out and back in - nothing helps.

    SOLUTION: You need to locate where Unity Hub is installed and open .exe or .sh file as a ADMINISTATOR and you will be able to get your licance.

    The instruction below works like a charm. Removed hub with all its traces, downloaded Unity as a separate installer (don't use Downloader, it fails on M1 Max for some reason after downloading is completed). Installed it, and then followed the instruction below for command-line license activation.

    You can safely install hub after doing this. Just point it to existing Editor installation.
