I believe Unity Pro implements the Xiph libtheora library to handle the Theora encoding done by the Unity editor, yes?. It does give very good results in my experience. Actually, better results than I seem to be able to achieve with ffmpeg or ffmpeg2theora utilities myself.

However, in some cases, Unity Pro editor is not available to do the encoding, so an offline bulk automated solution is necessary, using, say ffmpeg or ffmpeg2theora command line utilities.

So, I am wondering, what encoding parameters are used by Unity editor when converting videos to Theora by the editor? I have looked at your resulting OGV file metadata, it shows writing library as "libTheora 3.2.1 (UTC 2008-10-20)" which is not a recognizable Xiph libTheora version to me. Does UT customize/modify the libraries somehow to improve on the codec?

    Thank you
