Your sarcasm lacks originality or you just simply did not understand the message.

I think this thread should be locked, because it is absolutely pointless.

Its completely relevant. Did you know that the quality of YouTube comments has slowly increased since the rise of "grammar police"?
What I mean is, threads like these actually let some people think twice before making posts similar to what this thread highlights. I'm not saying those threads don't have a place however. But I guess this thread is aimed at a particular set of people. Every engine forum I've been on, has "those" people that are always posting, always complaining about one feature or the other and never producing anything worth displaying.

Its a game engine forum people, reputation is gained by quality of work, not quantity of posts. More rep you earn, the more BullSh*t you're allowed to dish out without getting bashed ;)

I haven't used these forums enough to know who the regular "whiners" are but I know enough to know they exist on most forums.
And to them I say, seriously, focus on what you can do than what you can't do and work with your limitations in mind. There is absolutely no point in not doing anything because youre focusing on problems that you wont have to deal with until you get to that point.

    Please, try the following :
    1. Replace the members of communist party with Unity devs.
    2. Replace the questions from the presenter of the show with topics mentioned so far in this thread.
    3. Try to find the funny part.

I could not move to point 3 no matter what. This thread is not funny, just absurd. Let's move on.

Uh, I read part of that particular EULA thread, even if I didn't participate, and you're wrongly assuming that the people there stopped working just because they were talking/complaining, which is not the point. Apart the "form" that thread took, which is surely debatable, they just wanted to understand better (and eventually complain about, which is their right) the new EULA, so they could truly know possible restrictions for eventual future works. After all, this is a forum, and using it to gather information about Unity is completely in-topic. Complaining about Unity is in-topic too, if that's what they feel - even if sometimes it goes a little too far. In short, participating in a forum extensively has nothing to do with "missing a pair" - not to mention that, personally, I believe that everybody still saying "grow a pair" should grow a brain ;).

The risen OP point is valid. It follows the same logic as when Unity decided to recycle "off-topic" forums. Information amount on the internet is growing rapidly, the more information quality reminders we introduce, is better.
It is very productive to read valuable post on the forums, and some random rambling usually is just time waster both for me, and for the poster.

This sentence was completely off-topic, and I think you should go on another forum if you want to write that!

Ahaha, sorry I didn't resist making a stupid joke! Merry Christmas to you! ;)

So what? As are many others. Maybe some people may not have finished a Unity game, but they may have other projects.

    Merry Christmas all!

I've completed in the last 3 years using Unity, 32 Games. So I definitely don't fall in to the Category of those who have not completed anything.

Oh! My new years resolution is to stop being a Pathological Liar. ^cough^

In any case, if I'm not about, happy new year to you all!

It takes incredible focus and step by step organizational mentality to finish a game. Especially if it's only afterwork hobby. And it takes expirience and that comes with getting older. Merry Christmas

I agree with the hippo, since we are all forced to read every single thread, and are forced to participate in the discussion, we should stop whining and start programming instead! No, making games is wimpy nerd S***. We need to all grow a pair, and get off our nerdy, dorky, computers and start to lift weights, building high horse power machines, chop down trees, get drunk drinking manly moonshine, fight people, win at all sports and chase women...and other mainly things to prove we have a pair and we arent whiners!

just in case you cant tell, that was sarcasm! (said in my homer simpson voice)

I feel he was a deep meaning in that, where we banned games that are rated 18+. Implying we ban everything.

I like to act like an english teacher sometimes.

    Hippo doesn't deserve that.

There is alot of useless banter on here, and alot of people who appear to just hang out causing ruckus rarely demonstrating they really are working to become a viable game developer of some sort.

Hippo is old(er) and naturally more irritable, this thread is just the old man rage of equivalent of 'You young whippersnappers stop yer tomfoolery on my lawn and go to school".

I personally find amusement in the tomfoolery, but if I want real development discussion I keep myself in the iOS section.

Well, I guess winter won't be coming to Australia then.:)

Edit: Sorry couldn't help but reference Game of Thrones.
