The Unity preset system is really underrated.

Unity added the preset system back in 2018.1 and no one has really talked about it. It can save you a lot of time in certain situations. It's especially useful for setting up default import settings for various asset types.

It has its problems, and they should fix it to be really useful and straight forward. For example, by now I am trying to match some specific files in a folder, but I can't get the "glob" pattern to work. It is just "Editor/Icons/*.png", nothing pushing the system beyond its limits. I don't have a way to validate the glob pattern, or to see what files it is matching, and I don't even know if it works as I imagine it works. For example, if I delete the ".meta" file from my PNG, will it use the preset next time it import, if I write the correct glob?

Now I will stop my work and try to understand this thing, for this reason I stated I don't feel it is straight forward.

Edit: I was missing the part the glob pattern require quotes " " to work. A validation would tell me that right away.
