The Rigging Toolbox now comes with improved animation exporters from Maya to Unity, an additional AAA-style game character (2 characters total, both in Maya), and a Unity project to help get you started.

The Rigging Toolbox, a character rigging tool for Maya that is especially useful for rigging Unity engine characters for any platform has recently been made available to the public.

The Rigging Toolbox is a Maya Python script with many rigging tools, including a complete auto-rigger and a Unity character and animation exporter. Unlike other "auto-riggers", RTB allows for the creation of custom controls and includes many control shapes, control shape positioning and naming options, the ability to create rigs with 'zeroed-out' controls and the ability to set custom control colors. The result is a simple, fun to use - yet powerful, game-friendly custom rig with immediate user familiarity.

The Rigging Toolbox has been used in personal, professional and academic production for years and is consistently being updated based on user feedback. RTB comes with a completely rigged and ready to animate character, scaled to Unity scale in Maya. Rig your own characters in minutes, export them to Unity in seconds.

v1.16 of The Rigging Toolbox is released -- with a lower price!

    Changes/New Features:

    * Both leg and arm auto-rigging solutions now include a Stretchy IK option. This stretchy IK solution is very fast and will not lag during character posing.
    * Automatic positioning of the pole vectors during rigging is greatly improved -- eliminates shifting of IK chains during rigging AND finds an optimal position for your vector controls after rigging.
    * General code cleanup and bug fixes.

    Hiya @jbuck,

Just wondering if you're maintaining this?

    Cheers
