This pathways stuff just a mess...

5days ago I left my pathway learning at: unity essesntials->explore unity->essentials of real time 3d

Now this chapter is totally missing. Some already competed chapters are missing as well. Some of my already completed steps now are in incomplete state.

Totally untrackable what I just learned and where should I continue.

Has something changed in he recent days? This just drives me off from the official tutorials and have to look an other reasourse to learn.

I am having this issue too. I just stared the essentials, and I'm missing essentials of real time 3d that as well. The tutorial was asking me to open my 3D project which I never saw - it started with scripting an object. Thanks.

Until fairly recently (last week) I couldn't get the official tute projects on here to work at all.

However I successfully completed 2 of the tutorial games last week.

See my topic in the "Made with Unity" section.

I agree it's a bit of chunky, but the Junior Programmer Pathway is one of the best tutorials I had so far. Karl is doing a great job there. Problem with tutorial website is that if you save a bookmark at one page, and load the page later on you will not see everything on left site on page in hierarchy (easy to skip something). This problem can be solved by going back to the main tutorial tree or using bookmarks that are inside the page (this small banner).

Why I liked so much Junior Programmer Pathway? It is really learning something, model watch then do is great. Other tutorials are just about "look how I'm awesome at programming" and dude writing 200-300 line script during one movie (making mistakes and not even cut this out in post production).

    Hello,
    Yet intelligence is simple...normally.
Me, too, tired of seeing the same games over and over again. I wanted to create one.
I started simple with Godot. What interests me is the learning curve. They (game engine designers) are supposed to know that learning can't be improved by any means.
After 3 weeks of good progress and practice, I decided to tackle my project. And there, despair, a non-existent documentation. I hung in there and 15 days later, no more progress because nothing is documented properly. In the sense that the text not only clearly explains the function but also helps to understand its integration in a computer logic linked to the video game.

So, I said to myself, ok, go for Unity. Well documented, robust, proven.
To start off cool, a little tilemap.
Installation of the editor and launch. And there, horror!
The Unity editor has 3000 entries (easy). Your eyes can't follow, options everywhere.
I don't let myself be impressed and decide to follow the documentation.
Despite the documentation you can see here without any logic or sequence:(https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/Tilemap-Palette.html)
Further down, you will find "Drag and drop Textures or Sprites from the Assets folder onto..."
The "drag and drop" doesn't work (I guess because I want to import a png...anyway, it doesn't work.
That's it...end of story...I'll have to watch hours of videos to understand why it doesn't work.

Hey guys, did you ever go to school? Didn't you remember any of it? Is there a teacher in charge of pedagogy for Unity?
According to the documentation, certainly not.

So I look at the game engines, dying, all of them, one after another for 2 decades because nobody thought of making a user interface that expands with the knowledge of the user and nobody hires a pedagogical manager.

Is there a guy with a brain in the game engine industry? The question has remained open for 20 years.
