The model is for a game. The game is on Unity 3d and there is a demo etc. I design The Hovercraft to 5 models. The Engine, Seat, Wing, Wing, and the Front.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who uses Sketchup. Is that a "concept" or supposed to be for in-game? If for in-game, I think you could do away with a bunch of material changes and polys, utilizing textures and normals. It also looks like you have some odd gaps and intersecting polys on the cowl and windshield.
Do you have to have the Pro version of Sketchup to export models to use in Unity or to make animations?
Looks pretty good, Very stylized.. Personally I don't find modelling in GoogleSketchup effective, But I like it for concepting
I just played with Sketchup and it was incredible. Only problem is it costs $500 for the pro version. It does not appear the free version will export to any useful formats. That seems awfully steep for a prototype/hobbiest tool.
You do not need Sketchup pro. You can talk to a guy that have sketchup and he can export all your model to obj..
PlayUptools.com (import complete scences from sketchup into unity without the need of Pro) and...concept looks good, but way too many materials to be usefull for a game. Will it be textured any time?
