The Good Life (TGL) in release mode

    After years of development (how many? ehm..), I happily open a new post for our now finished game, The Good Life, The tropical paradise simulation (a.k.a TGL).

    The game will take the traditional way of retail online publishing (yep, we're old dogs). The development is a work of two people but I also would like to thank Rob Scales (for original music) and Anthony Magdelaine (for character design).

    Big thanks also go to this community for the invaluable help and inspiration.

    This is a game that tries to capture the spirit of a laid-back lifestyle in a 3D tropical environment. You get to travel around with several luxury boats, while managing tourist campaigns and real estate business and completing missions on your way to becoming the area’s top tycoon. Missions range from photo safaris to rescuing people, escaping from pirates or diving for treasure in the deep (thus the underwater pictures).

    The story begins like this:

    Like so many, the hero, Derek Hales, is fed up and is dreaming about ditching the nine-to-five lifestyle. When he learns that his late uncle made him the sole heir of “Carpe Diem Boats”, a boating company on the tropical complex of the Jo Jo islands, he doesn’t hesitate for a second. A new life awaits ! After a long voyage, he and his girlfriend Michelle Joyce finally arrive at their destination, enjoying the beautiful sunrise, with a Boating Company of their own. Compared to the dull office life, this new life looks much better. Finally but suddenly, life is good...

    Hey, just bumped in to announce the official trailer of our game.
    The release is at 2nd November and have our fingers crossed.
    We're pretty excited to see the work of just two guys get the gold status and coming out after almost three years of hard work :)

    Just out of curiosity, why do you guys need to go to Greenlight ? Doesn't Iceberg deals this for you guys ?

    We are nearing release of a major TGL update.

    We made the game faster in the in-between rides, added more tycoon stuff, a brand new fishing mission, visual enhancements and a handful of other ("most-wanted") features (like multiple-saves, etc) but, yet, we're a few months away from release, because we want to do a closed beta test with game's fans this time around.

    Here's the new boat to cross the islands of The Good Life. We call it Aventor and it is the fastest boat of TGL to date:

    However, we are still struggling to get into Steam. Seems Steam is not compatible to innovative games... But we keep our hopes high, so if you have a Steam account, please be kind enough to vote for us: TGL @ Greenlight

    This looks really good. Your presentation of the game is perfect, the screenshots look impressive, the video looks great and you have a very nice website. Thumbs up!

    Voted on Greenlight (πολύ καλή δουλειά παιδιά). The only issue I would focus on now is animation.
